lynda, yes, they are thistles! good eye! but I still find them beautiful! I love spots like this where everything is just growing naturally and I look for color and texture in everything there… grasses, weeds, trees, buildings, etc. I love it all!

thanks! on the baby doll layout I made two different banners.... for the smaller ones I just cut triangles from patterned paper. Then I used adhesive to put on the twine with the triangles over the top of the twine. To finish it off I stitched it down (along the top of the bannesr) with my sewing machine. For the larger one I used the American Crafts tags and I cut the triangle notches out of the bottom of each tag to make them look like the flags for a banner instead of just tags. Then I adhered them down first and again finished it off by machine stitching along the top. hope that helps!!

I take pictures of my layouts and then I crop them to the exact size so that you can't see any background. I use photoshop but most photo editing software programs have a crop feature that would allow you to do the same thing. hope that helps!

Hi there! I dont think you would need to read another book. Just be familiar with where all the buttons on your camera are. The buttons to change things like iso, aperture, shutter speed. You dont need to know why to change them or what they do. Just how to change them. Does that make sense? Also, yes you will learn how to meter and get the exposure (degree of lightness) that you prefer. Maggie Holmes http://www.maggieholmesphotography.com Sent from my iPhone

I print the ones with the borders at Costco. They have always just been a small border when I have done it. Maybe check with your costco and see if they have different border size options???

Lately I have been printing all of my photos for scrapbooking at Costco. I love that I can pick them up the same day and they do a great job. I print on the glossy paper and I love it!!

Thanks Karen! Yes, I recommend using the 50mm 1.8 or any other fixed aperture lens, but that one is the least expensive and gives wonderful results!!

HI Colleen! yes, they do tend to curl a bit but then when i put them in my albums they seem to flatten out just fine. i also try to flatten them out while i am drying the page with my heat embossing gun!
