Soooo. Once again, I am trying to commit to posting regularly. Yeah. Since that's panned out before. Anyway... I've been seeing stuff about the Feminist Selfie project, and it reminded me of the article I read a while back about... Continue reading

I've gone three solid months without posting. I doubt there is anyone around to read this, but I am hoping that rambling a bit will bring me some clarity from the gunk in my head. __________________________________________________________________ It's Advent, but I'm... Continue reading

Our department adopts a group of soldiers for the holidays, and anyone who wants to donate food or toiletries or magazines or whatever can leave their stuff with me and our executive assistant in lieu of giving us money to... Continue reading

I've gotten three expense reports this week that include meals without itemized receipts. While I can accept the $21 dollar charge at Chili's as a reasonable charge, I have some issue with processing a group dinner at a fancy schmancy... Continue reading

My memories of running from childhood are all negative- the laps in gym class and my inability to finish the mile in the time the teachers said was appropriate for my age group. I've always been slow and lacked endurance.... Continue reading

I was copied on the following passive-aggressive e-mail from the CEO's assistant: [COO], [VP], [CEO] thought you were joining this discussion – your names are not on the invite Karen sent, but [CEO] would definitely like you to join. The... Continue reading

I am (once again) attempting to finish a few daily photo challenges. This is also my feeble attempt to regnerate my blogging habit. Shooting for the moon, that's my M.O Fat Mum Slim's daily photo challenge is a perennial favorite.... Continue reading

I am well aware of the effect of my stuffy nose and irritated throat on my vocal qualities. Hearing "Wow, you sound awful!" from colleagues every time I attempt to contribute to a meeting is getting on my nerves. Continue reading

Great job on the 30 pounds. That colleague is clearly a blind, rude moron. I can't stand the people who ask "Can you eat that?" when they see me eat something that they wouldn't consider appropriate. Well, obviously I *can* eat it, since you can see me consuming it. As to whether it is permitted on my weight loss plan (which it is, since I am doing Weight Watchers and nothing is actually forbidden), that's no one's business but mine.

In addition to the self-mutilators who "ball [their] eyes out," I have begun to take issue with message board posters who say someone must "tow the line" after a mishap and those of "wait with baited breath" for something to... Continue reading

The key words to look for to ensure actual coffee in a blended bev are caffe', mocha or java. Ohterwise you can be suckered into some creamy green tea or milkshake-like thing that makes your teeth hurt. (Not that I have anything against milkshakes; I just don't want one when I am planning on coffee.) Too bad they won't go the extra step to crush some ice in an iced coffee drink- then you could have coffee as the dominant ingredient, but still have little icy bits instead of big old cubes.

Yeah, don't ever order anything from the "Creme Frappucino" portion of the menu. That's the group with no life-giving caffeine at all. The caramel one is quite sweet also, even though that one is a coffee based one.

I find it challenging to work up a sufficient amount of sympathy for people whose feelings are hurt by the talk show hosts on the other end of the political spectrum. If you are a self-proclaimed liberal who insists upon... Continue reading

Wow! Glad he's on the mend, but it sounds like it'll be a long path back to full recovery. I believe I would replace "peeved" with "seething with white-hot hatred and vitriol" in your post if I were you.

Nope, women can be disgusting. There is no excuse for someone putting me into a situation in which I'd have to sanitize my butt. I'm also nauseated by how many people don't wash their hands.
