a star is a hole in the night. the night is the beduin gods carpet that they unroll at the end of the day to drink their tea on, and where the moths have been at it is where the light shines through...stars! (just saw the whatif as I was beginning to write that this is getting better and better..and its getting even better!)

this is so rich..looking at the nine patch suns and remembering the collage star from cwb, and the thoughts about negative space that the collage method of composition brings to mind, I see the sun shape as a variation of the star shape (which is true in real life too) so I'm whatiffing : make a sun by collaging a sky around it?yeah! and one more..looking up from my computer I see th large cardboard sun which has been hanging there since I moved into this house, and from the same nail a couple of hearts from mothers day last year..I had stopped noticing them. This is what you do to me..noticing again.wonderful!
