Oh my goodness, naomi! That guy has balls! I will assume the gun was pointed down inside his waistband? Maybe he won't have balls much longer! LOL

I had just arrived at the hospital to arrange hospice and take her home, thinking at the very least we had days. And then the whirlwind. The palliative nurse calling me from her doorway saying you need to come now. Within 10 minutes, I sat at her bedside holding her... Continue reading

Shannon is in town for the weekend. So naturally the family got together for a barbecue yesterday. What was supposed to be a restful family afternoon or card playing, pie baking, summer goodness had its bumps. In fact, at one point it bumped my out to the front steps in... Continue reading

So what have the past few days brought? All the grandkids started school on Wednesday so we had a pizza party to celebrate at Mom's house that evening. At the same time we offered Tokasa the opportunity to go out for dinner with her friend, which she did. It was... Continue reading

Sundays are, still, the day that I visit with Mom. Just visit. No matter how crazy the week has been full up with her care, I go to her and simply visit on Sundays. Yesterday began with a trip to the market to do their weekly shopping. Even though it... Continue reading

Everyday this week has beckoned me forth to sort through some details of Mom's homecoming. The nursing home recommended us to Accent Home Healthcare providers. They are really a lovely group of helpful young professional women who truly want to help. First thing yesterday morning I had an appointment with... Continue reading

Yesterday was fairly quiet, holding only several phone calls here and there regarding Mom, and a visit to the bank to open her a new account. I just had to insist (mostly to my own brain that wags its bony finger constantly) that it was a day to focus on... Continue reading

So, the deal is (for now), Tokasa and mom make a menu and a shopping list and I do the grocery shopping on Sundays for the week. Which, we did last week. Tuesday was chicken soup day, Thursday, beef stew day. I went to the butcher and bought the best,... Continue reading

Yesterday was an absolute fiasco. My first day back to work and it went something like this: 17 text messages 37 phone calls I kid you not. I just counted all the in and out messages/calls on my phone regarding Mom. And there were another 4-5 on my work landline.... Continue reading

It's before dawn on the first Monday morning where I have to wake up and go to work, unavailable for anything Mom's life may need. I'm scared. I laid in bed thinking and praying for an hour, and now I am writing. Late last night I had an exchange of... Continue reading

Yesterday Mom left Sonoma Healthcare Center. She was a bit emotional leaving the facility, even though she has hated it for the past 2 months and longed to be home. It's interesting to me, about life, that you never really know how much people care for you until you're about... Continue reading

Aaaaah...my knitting friend is back! So happy to read this post...AND...loving the specimen photos too! Love the vest, the pin and am totally blown away that Ron spins his own yarn (a dream of mine!) and knits it into such creative and colorful hats. Can I consign him to make me one? For my big ass head ;) (yes, I wear a man's 7 3/4! No joke. Uuuuummmmm, I can pay the price of two for one hat? hahahaha) Anyway, thanks for sharing your knitting status. And can't believe we're on the same coast now, shame on us for not yet having made a meet in person happen. xoxo Marianne

I love the floral arrangement AND I also have been noticing Obama's graying hair and sharing you thought about it. Quite a burden, this country, I'd say. xoxoxo
