How the hell do the Las Angeles Kings get in the Stanley Cup finals but NOT the BRUINS?!
something stirs and something tries and starts to climb toward the light
I worked on [REDACTED] today, and had more fun than I thought possible. I can't say anything more until July. Tomorrow, I work on [REDACTED], which is different from [REDACTED], but should be really awesome, too. I can't believe I get to spend two days working with [ACTORS]. (It was a lot easier...
Aww, boo. I'm making a sad face right now. I take it this means you will not be at PAX this weekend?
I forgot to mention that I'm coming to Australia
This Friday, I'm heading to Melbourne to present Video Games Unplugged with Scott Kurtz and Kris Straub. The show is going to be amazing: the MSO will play music from games like Bioshock 2, Heavy Rain, and Final Fantasy. As the music plays, they'll show the games on a huge screen. And did I ment...
Well that's just uber shitty, dude, sorry to hear that. Why do people do shitty things like that. I just don't get it.
Someone found my Kindle on the airplane this weekend. I'd really like it back.
I left my Kindle on an airplane this weekend (post-convention exhaustion will do that to you), and someone found it. I know that someone found it, because they've been using my account to buy games and books. Based on the purchases, I'm fairly sure the person who found my Kindle (which is named ...
That looks fucking awesome, I can't wait! But I don't recommend lighting people on fire. Burning hair smells terrible...
This is my new show, Tabletop
Last summer, Felicia Day asked me if I wanted to develop a show together for her new premium YouTube channel, Geek and Sundry. Spoiler alert: I said yes. She asked me if I wanted to do a show about gaming, maybe a review show or something like that. "I think it would be more fun do somet...
Biological parents can be such a drag - we experience something similar at my house and every weekend there's usually a re-acclimation (is that a word?) period where she has to remember the rules at our house all over again - she's only 8 but is an awesome kid. I love watching her sense of humor develop and every once in a while she has the most amazing timing and wit that I just kind of stop and marvel. Kids are awesome. Well... maybe not everyone's...
In which I am a proud father (this is not a repost)
My son, Ryan, graduated college with a creative writing degree this past December. He got a job immediately after school, and moved all the way across the country to work there. I miss him every single day, but I'm incredibly proud of him, and the work he's doing. Earlier today, I read something...
Dude - if you're easily amused, I highly recommend watching this. It's 3 minutes and 44 seconds worth of giggles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=31x2WpuSAkA
In which I am easily amused (again)
A few days ago, I saw this awesome thing that happened: Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa flew 220 miles into space to play with toys. His recent stay on the International Space Station included several hours of building a Lego version of his orbiting abode. When it was done, it looked somet...
You own a kilt too?! Hot sauce! My significant other has 2 Utilikilts and has been saving up for an actual dress kilt. Nicely done, Mr. Wheaton.
in which a suitcase is packed
Tomorrow morning, I'm going to get into a giant aluminium tube and fly across the continent to America's Wang. Then, on Sunday, I'll get on a boat and spend a week doing nerdy stuff with nerds in the middle of the ocean. It should be pretty awesome. Earlier today, I folded my laundry, and put it...
First off - I read your blog pretty regularly and love your work - it always feels a little weird leaving comments though, especially if I don't know you. BUT, I can completely appreciate your dislike of FB and especially appreciate it coming from someone with a large public/internet presence. I have a personal business and it took several of my friends + my significant other to convince me that having an FB page is an excellent way to market yourself. I still don't use it very much and I role my eyes every time people reference it as their source of personal information (if I don't know your relationship status before you change it on FB, I don't really care). Sorry for the extra long comment, and *thrrrpt* to FB. Thanks Wil and enjoy the cruise!
So I broke down and made a Facebook thing...
I’ve resisted using Facebook for years, mostly because I have a huge problem with the privacy policies. I’m really happy using a combination of Twitter, Tumblr, and Google Plus to do all my social media public life stuff, and I don’t really want to add something else. But I’ve talked with frie...
