I think I see Ha-Joong Chang's point about the revolutionary aspects of the washing machine :) Thanks for reading this, Dale!

Good point, Sharat.... my bike is "young"and has a lot learn in the ways of rusting :) It's mostly aluminum, with a carbon fork, by the way.

I'll give it a valiant try -- I mean slog... but not at the expense f the fun of writing. Which means that it just might take a little longer than I planned.

Jean, Beth: Thanks for the comments ... I just realized I put up this post with plenty typos and omitted words. Perhaps pedaling that much wasn't such a good idea before hitting the Publish button :)

I used to eat carbs and down a little extra wine back some years ago, hoping t chase the blahs away. It was accidental that I realized how much exercise helps my mood. The challenge now is trying to get enough of it without setting off the arthritis issues. I know ... the key is moderation :)

Good questions! Wish I knew the answer :) But I guess, we will find out, whether we labor the letters or not....

Thanks, Sally. You are right, it's only in the back-and-forth that solitude and the chatter of the world can strike up a conversation and so give rise to interesting writing :)

Thank you, Beth! am having fun on this project that involves a cookbook, epubs (learning lots about that, fast) and, last but not least, a group of really nice people.

Well, yes ... one one hand, self-tracking has been really good for me. On the other hand, back last January, I got a little competitive with those numbers (I don't want to admit to being competitive with myself too!) and tried to up them every week. By March, I was having sciatic issues, which I tried to make go away with more yoga and Pilates. Bad move, because I only made things worse. So now I am trying very hard to make rest a major training element in all my programs :)

Thank you for sharing this with us. It's a portal into your process too. Amazing to see this awesome picture emerge through the stages.

Fabulous post! My aunt in Canada had paintings by both & knew them. One of the pleasures of living in her house was seeing the work of E. Carr every day :)

Your recipe sounds delicious - and I do eat fish, and yes, meat too. I was not much for vegetables in my younger days, so a lot of experimentation with vegan dishes made me appreciate vegetables in a new light. Also, I do have a wheat allergy, so I had give up one of my staples: freshly baked bread :(

Well, I do love to cook - if I don't have to all the time... and I used to write about food on my blog before. I am glad to hear things are looking up in your world - and I agree, at least where I am concerned, I definitely look better a little fuzzy these days. :)

How cool is that? Do give your dehydrator a try. Using it takes a little planning, but unlike other forms of cooking, you can leave the thing on and go do other stuff, while it does its magic.

Fire Bird, Tamara, Anne: Thanks for stopping by. When I see such beauty along my walks, it's hard for me not to keep on taking pictures, because I want to share it with the world. :) And Anne, yes, the phone has become a multipurpose gadget that is morphing into a social lifeline of sorts these days.

Dale: Yes, I am writing from the current myself as I drift on the raft that looks, if I squint my eyes just so, if not like the latest yacht, at least a sturdy ark. Didn't mean to imply judgement; I was merely reminding myself of where I started and where I am. And, as you can see the allure of that little house is still so much bigger than the lot it occupies! :)

Yes, it is playing with being lost, because getting lost scares me too. Given the "smart" phone, its' not likely I would find myself in foreign territory ... at least not in terms of geography. The world of my fears, now that's another country... :)

Thanks for buying it... :) By the way, you can edit your Amazon recommendations and searches, so you won't have to slug through too many weird suggestions.

Jean, Wow ... thanks for printing out that early version ... and the interest in this new one. I went into this project with some trepidation, I have to confess, but am glad I did it. The alternative, writing nearly nothing and doing nothing about that pittance, wasn't working too well anymore.

marja-leena: There is a way to make these ebooks available in good old paper form as well, but this particular manuscript, I believe, is not long enough for that. I will look into it.
