With ALL the historical Chicago architects available why are we importing a German one, no disrespect intended.
Those guys have never been on the Pier during a crowded Summer day. Navy Pier remains the #1 state attraction despite it obvious flaws.
I say go back to Daniel Burnham's Chicago Plan and build a sister pier. How glorious would that look? The congestion of the single pier could ease, thus drawing more people.
I look at that design above and immediately think, where's Chicago's influence?
I refuse to believe there's not one local architect that can't come up with a better design.
