Holy crap that was awesome. Thanks for a wonderful time, dude! I did indeed get nerd all over me. I was the guy kinda near the front on your side that had on the "Science, It Works Bitches" t-shirt.
Thanks to you and all the other guys and gals that put this thing together. Fucking sweet!
w00tstock 2.x is this weekend
Okay, how awesome is that poster? Rich Stevens designed it for us. A T-shirt version will be available at all the 2.x shows, until we sell out of them. So it turns out that w00tstock 2.x kicks off tomorrow with 2.0 in Seattle, and 2.1 on Saturday in Portland. I've been so busy with so many...
Squee! I think that I might be the very first person who bought tickets for the Seattle show. Row 1, seats 1 and 2, baby! I'll be there with my non-geek girlfriend, we'll see how it goes. :)

HokieSeas... ah Wasteland. One of my all-time faves. I liked rushing into the Atchison (?) tent and killing the pistol-packing baby (along with the rest of the family). That was one of the hardest fights of the game, in my opinion. And the whole "church of the mushroom cloud" thing, genius! Thermodynamism FTW!
Sadly, I have never played MULE.
The Geek in Review Returns!
Hey guess what? I'm writing the Geek in Review for the Suicide Girls Newswire again. Instead of a weekly column, it'll be monthly, and a new column will go up on the second Wednesday of every month. Today's column is called "... when the MCP was just a chess program." The earliest video games d...
Wil, if you're going to have any free time outside of the Comicon, I'd love to meet you somewhere for a beer or three. Pike's brewery or Elysian Fields or Hales or...
did i mention that i'll be in seattle this weekend?
Wil Wheaton's Geek Tour 2008 rolls into Seattle this weekend for the Emerald City ComiCon! From my original announcement: I am so excited to announce that I'll be going to Seattle next month for the Emerald City ComiCon! This is an awesome show, with a focus fucos on indie books and publishers. ...
Wil, recipes can't be copyrighted.
The eggplant recipe does sound great, though I would also throw in 1/2c or so of red wine.
we're cookin' now
Saturday night, Anne and I wanted to have some sort of date. I've been getting tired really quickly this week (doctor said to expect that) and I've had terrible headaches, so instead of going out, we stayed home and made dinner together. I love cooking together. I love working together in the ki...
I never got into cribbage, it always seemed like "Calvinball" to me. I don't pretend to remember the rules, but stuff like "Oh, that jack makes you automatically lose 3 points and go back 3 spaces! If you'd played a 6 instead it would have neutralized the tachyon matrix!"
Anyway, I have some great memories of getting destroyed at chess by my dad and grandpa (independently). I'm sure your pod-people will remember the game-playing fondly later in their lives, just as you have.
Oh yah, and keep up with the political posts! This is YOUR blog.
peg eight for the bonding
When I was a kid, I played a lot of Cribbage with my dad on family trips. I don't remember much about the specifics of the game, other than feeling like I was playing a game that was so grown up and not winning very often, but I always looked forward to going camping with my parents, because tha...
