Remind me to show you my yearbook photo sometime. I had the babydyke version of the same haircut*. What? IT WAS THE 80S, BITCH. *And I rocked it.

This is such very awesome advice. It works for writing, too. I feel like when I lose track of the writing I do for myself, for the joy of it--that's when I lose track, also, of my edge as an artist.

I just found my batwing Guatemalan jacket with the wooden toggle buttons. Reader, I kept it. Also, dude. Hypercolor t-shirt? I *coveted* one of those.

I have a theory that WinAmp is psychic. And no matter how many times I tell myself that really it's just situational relevance, not actual divination--STILL CREEPY.

Glad to hear you are feeling better, and breathing through your nose again. And I hope you adapt quickly to the change in resonance within your skull. It must be like listening to yourself on a recording all the time. How weird!

Wil, I think you're a tremendously dedicated and entertaining writer (and I am actually a regular reader of your blog as well, though I lurk shamelessly) and I am extremely happy that I could be of service. I try to write the blog I really wanted to be able to read when I was struggling in the trenches and trying to figure out how to write decent stories, and the best response I can ever have is for it to be useful. Yours, --Elizabeth Bear (but really, everybody calls me Bear.)
