Thank you, Geoff! Getting the experience takes a little time. I can usually spot someone who doesn't have experience by asking them what they've worked on that wasn't fully successful. With a lot of trial and error, only those who are doing the work have those experiences. Theory diverges when the rubber meets the road.

Dean -- thanks for your POV. It's an interesting play, right? There is some upside to Google doing this, but I do see your point. They lend some cred where solo ventures may not get the traction they need.

Scott -- Thanks for the comment and the MM link. It's definitely coming, may not look like it does now, but the key will be (to Marc's point) if other technology like GPS+visual recognition make this obsolete. Time will tell Marc -- I'll do a little more digging on the Goggles technology, it's an exciting time in the Place+data+experience space.
