Hi Audrey, Yay for starting! I always use a 3.5mm hook for 8 ply yarn, a lot of people use a 4mm, but I prefer the smaller hook. If you purchased 8 ply too, I'd definitely suggest either a 4 or 3.5mm hook :) Mel x

I try and force myself to do keep my hands busy after dinner each night, once I've settled down on the sofa for the evening. A lot of the time I don't feel like it at all, but I find once I force myself to start, I can get heaps done. I hope you can find a nice rhythm soon xx

Yes, yes, I do :) They last for a good few years after constant use - I just throw in the washing machine with everything else, they wash up great.

I have been, but I've slowed down considerable this week :)

That is very true Audrey! I'm starting to feel a lot better this week, so there's been hardly any crocheting happening :)

I hope the rain has passed you by now Suzan, although wet days with some knitting do sound kind of nice :)

YAY, this was so nice to read Kate! I was really wrapped with the book Kate and there isn't a pattern in there that I don't love and want to make.

I think I've only ever made rum balls and peppermint log with condensed milk, so super happy to be able to add this to my recipe book :)

Me too Suzan, we are desperately saving to see the south island and the bits of the north island that we didn't quite make it too.

They sure do Audrey and no, it's not a dumb question at all! xx I can usually get two or sometimes 3 dishcloths out of one ball of cotton, so they're really reasonable to make. The first time I started using them I was really worried about staining the cloth, after it had taken me so long to knit, but once I got over that, I became addicted to them :) I have a big stack and I just throw them in the wash when they need a clean. They're great for wiping down benches with and washing the dishes - we still use a scourer for tough scrubbing, but they're fab for the general dishes. Mel x
