i made this casual summer frock using McCalls M6744 (A) with some intensely patterned striped jersey that i bought from girl charlee a couple years back. i like this pattern a lot. it's quite simple and quick to make. the only adjustments i made were to lengthen the bodice about... Continue reading

here are some photos of the load (4 boxes!) of vintage fabric i bought at the estate sale i mentioned last week. it was a challenge to restrain my giddiness as i dug though box after box of cloth, pulling out beautiful pieces, adding them to my take-home pile. i'm... Continue reading

here's what i made out of my fox fabric: another variation of the pattern i used to make my purple palms and chambray squiggle tops ('A' from japanese pattern book: simple wardrobe). this time i skipped the upper/lower panels on the front and back and changed the curve of the... Continue reading

here's an herb-y design i created and entered in this week's spoonflower contest (only one more day to vote). looking super-closely at plants, it's fun to notice all the little details; shapes of tiny petals, the angles and curves of serrated leaf edges, not to mention all the variations in...
