Hi Midtowner, Was there a specific item you were unable to save? If so, please let us know. You should be able to add any item to your lists, with the exception of items in our Digital Archive. Sorry if this wasn't clear from our post!

Unfortunately you can't organize the items you have on hold by material type, or create lists within your holds. The only thing you could do is to create two lists in your saved items, e.g. "Books on Hold" and "DVDs on Hold" and add the items to the appropriate lists from your holds.

Hi Cynthia, Yes, you are able to add items you have on hold to your lists. If you add an item on hold to one of you lists, it will indicate that you also have it on hold.

Hi Anne, Thanks for letting us know and so glad you are enjoying the lists!

Glad you are enjoying the lists! Currently you are not able to export your lists, but we are going to add that feature soon.

Hi Camile, It sounds like you have checked out the PDF version of the title. This format is likely not compatible with your device, so you will need to place a hold on the ePub format. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi Karn, The problems with OverDrive and iOS seem to be intermittent and they hope to have them resolved with the next update. In the meantime, if you continue to have problems, please contact OverDrive Support directly.

Hi Fardeen, Page positions are not volunteer but if you are interested you can ask at your local branch for an application form.

Hi Longfei, You do not need to attach your SIN to your application form. It is only required if you are hired by the library.

Hi Serena, The fact that you have another job should not have any bearing on whether or not you would be hired at the library, but it is hard to say for sure why you haven't been called. The best thing to do if you have not heard back after submitting an application is to follow up directly with the branch (or branches) where you applied.

Hi Polina, Unfortunately, we don't have a list of which branches have positions available. Each branch hires individually so the best thing to do is to contact the branch or branches you are interested in working at.

Hi Robert, You would have a set schedule but there is usually flexibility to accommodate requests for time off due to special occasions or vacations. The jobs are, however, year 'round so you wouldn't be able to take an extended period of time off during the summer.

Hi Vivian, You can submit a completed application form without a resume and have the same chance of being chosen. You can certainly include a copy of your resume if you have one.

Hi Barbara, We have not heard of other users having difficulty transferring eaudiobooks after upgrading to the new version of OverDrive and unfortunately don't have a Nano we can test with. I am going to refer you directly to OverDrive in hopes that they will be able to help. You can contact them via our online form here: http://frontline.overdrive.com/?Lib=Toronto%20Public%20Library Please let us know if they are not able to help.

Hi Marie, Unfortunately, there is no update on the Kindle situation. Toronto Public Library and other Canadian libraries are still not able to lend eBooks that work on Kindle eReaders like the Paperwhite. While we hope that this won't always be the case, we are unable to say when and if it will change. Margot

Hi Carol, You will not lose the book - it will still be in your Bookshelf on the TPL OverDrive site. You will have to download it again onto the app once you authorize your device again. Margot

Hi Bill, When you go into the Settings on the app, you should see an option to Deauthorize. If you don't, you might want to try deleting the app and then re-installing it. You will lose any items you have already downloaded as well as your history and app settings. Items can be downloaded again from the library site. You can refer to this guide from OverDrive about how to save your history if you want before deleting. http://help.overdrive.com/article/0059/What-to-do-if-a-title-is-not-properly-loading-or-OverDrives-mobile-app-is-crashing Hope this helps, Margot

Hi Sean, We're still hoping that all Kindles will eventually be compatible with library ebooks. We'll keep you posted!

Hi Keith, This particular Kindle is an android-based tablet which has just been released in Canada and is the first Kindle to be compatible with library ebooks and eaudiobooks. The post includes a link to a user guide we created for customers wanting to use their Kindle Fire to access material from the library. You can read more about the Kindle Fire here: http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/05/23/amazon-launching-kindle-fire-hd-and-kindle-fire-hd-8-9-in-canada-ships-june-13th/

Hi Jim, The OverDrive Media Console is a free application. I haven't used a Playbook but I know that Apple requires your account credentials even if you are downloading a free app. I suspect that BlackBerry is the same.

Hi Saurav, Thank you for your kind words about the website; your feedback is greatly appreciated. You have made some excellent suggestions for new features and we hope to be able to implement some of them in the future. One tip I can offer in the meantime is to follow the instructions included on this FAQ page http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/using-the-library/help/troubleshooting-technical.jsp so you can set your browser to remember your card number and PIN. This way you won't have to enter it every time as I agree that it is long and hard to remember! Thanks again for your interest in TPL and we hope you continue to explore all the great services we have to offer.
