I was attracted to these shoes because they are cute and funky, but I really started wearing them because of plantar fasciitis. The worked wonders for my feet. I bought mine last year. To see current colors and read all... Continue reading

By Bob McLaren As soon as I got my driver’s license in August ‘52, I immediately started looking for MY car. To earn the money for my first car, I’d been cutting neighbors’ lawns for years, did some gardening work for them too, but I made most of my money... Continue reading

By Dick Williams It was the winter of 1974, and I was headed to Spain to propose to my bride and spend 6-8 months touring Europe. Having owned a scooter and motorcycle previously, I had my heart set on a motorcycle to tour Europe. Hitchhiking from Idaho to NYC in... Continue reading

By Alicia Poole It was a matchbox car, really, but its simplicity of structure made it all the more miraculous. Pink. Sparkly. Small. It was Tonia. Her father, a used car salesman, gave it to her for her 16th birthday. The slightly iridescent paint job was the only new thing... Continue reading

By Evelyn Dykema I’m not going to tell about John’s first car, a 47 Ford, which he bought in college in 1955 for $25 and shared with another guy. It was called Old Smokey for all of the reasons implied in that name. It had no heater, but we had... Continue reading

The Flea carrying Phil, Laura and Amy. By Laura Little My first car was a 1964 VW bug, no frills but in good condition. We named it "The Flea." My brother Phil, shown in the driver's seat, and I (shotgun) paid $600 for it in my senior year of high... Continue reading

Christy with the Beetle in the background. By Christy Gillette My first car was a "first" in every sense of the word. When I was born, my parents brought me home from the hospital in a red 1968 Volkswagen Beetle that would be a part of our family for over... Continue reading

By Kimberly Brown I don’t think I can even count how many cars I’ve had in the last 20 years. Big ones, little ones, beautiful ones, hoopty ones, ones with pretty names and one that was even called a Corona. Yes, it ran on beer. But my first car…that was... Continue reading

By Corrine DelahuntyMy first car was a 1966 Ford Mustang, in mint condition, a gift from my grandpa for my 16th birthday! Yes a classic. Too bad my mind couldn't comprehend the value of it back then! I did my very best to bring it through the fire of what... Continue reading

By Julianne BaumannI believe this was my first car: I had a Toyota at some point, and I believe that was the one I sold before I headed up to Cal Poly (because I had my Vespa). It was a white car (would never own another white car) but had... Continue reading

By Deirdre McGruder My first was a dark red Nissan Stanza I named Jose. Jose Stanza. My granddad found it at a place that fixes and resells crashed cars, and he co-signed for it. My first debt. :o) Jose was the perfect car for me, because I didn't know zilch... Continue reading

People are nostalgic about a lot of things, but ask them about their first car and their whole demeanor changes. For most people, their first car represents their first real freedom. For many, it was their first real responsibility. And, I find, there's always a great story or two about... Continue reading

I'm trying to think of the name of a store in malls in the '80s. It had Earth in the name and sold candles and posters and such. Anyone know what it is?
Thank you very much, I think I better start updating it again :)
