I wish you all the best, invisible internet friend. You and your beautiful family deserve only that.
On Wednesday, Dave and I filed for divorce
Every divorce has its reasons, but mine can be explained with a single word. I love David. I will always love David. But I'm not in love with him. Two stupid little letters. Sadly, in this case, small words matter. Some words weigh more than others and this one just got too heavy for me. The m...
I think about the way he always smelled and how much I miss him
What's the first thing that pops into your mind when you think of your father?
I'm lucky. I have a great dad, so this prompt is really easy for me... The first thing that pops into my head when I think of my dad is... him. Just him. Simply thinking the words "my dad" makes me smile. Then I shake my head a little and smile even wider. My dad's unique way of moving through t...

and feel the walls for a light switch.
I want them to waterski
across the surface of a poem
waving at the author's name on the shore.
But all they want to do
is tie the poem to a chair with rope
and torture a confession out of it.
They begin beating it with a hose
to find out what it really means.
