Thank you.
Though I hadn't seen him in over twenty years, I knew I'd miss him forever
I stood in the lobby of the Falcon Theater in Toluca Lake, and looked at Twitter while I waited for the rest of the guys to arrive. The walls were covered with posters from productions like CHiPs: The Musical and It's A Stevie Wonderful Life. Being in a theater during the day, when it's just a b...
I seriously love this story. Thanks for sharing it again since I didn't see it the first time.
And I have a request . . . I know you've mentioned that you're slowly putting your books up on Amazon for the Kindle. I am really very interested in Games Matter and hope you might consider putting it up next. :-)
From the Vault: see this place where stories all ring true
This morning, while driving around town, Anne and I heard Green Grass and High Tides on the radio. It was part of a set of songs with "green" in the title, on account of it being St. Patrick's Day. It's a stretch, but any excuse to play a great song on the radio -- especially a song that's nearl...
I would most certainly be interested! Especially since the last two copies of the book I *really* wanted were snapped up by the guy in line in front of me at ECCC. :-)
here i dreamt i was an architect
My brain desperately wants to write some stories, so I've been digging through the pile of Ideas That Didn't Quite Make It to see if anything in there inspires me, or is at least worth dusting off and poking with a sharp stick. So far, two stories look promising, though one of them needs a fairl...
I just wanted to thank you for The Blue Star of Awesome (+5 to defense of dissertation) that you so graciously gave me. I Tweeted shortly after, "Take that, Academia! I will pwn you!" :-)
I wrote about it on my blog: http://www.game-on-girl.com/?p=190
Emerald City Comicon after action report
ECCC has officially joined PAX on the List of Conventions I Don't Ever Want To Miss. It's well-organized, staffed by competent and friendly volunteers, and has what is, in my opinion, the perfect balance of comics and popular geek culture. This year, I had to leave Saturday afternoon to fly home...
Well said. I posted something much the same for the same reasons. :)
a point of clarification
Yesterday, I overheard some twentysomethings complaining about how much they hated their jobs. After a few minutes, it became clear that none of them took high school seriously, and at least a couple of them had dropped out of community college because it was, in their words, "too hard." I Twitt...
I retweeted that comment because, as a college professor, I am irritated on a daily basis by students saying the same kinds of things. If college was easy, it wouldn't be worth getting a degree and it wouldn't do what it is intended to do which is to set you apart from those *without* a degree. In the end, it's not even about gaining knowledge but just showing you can do what it takes to get the degree.
