Social software is 90% social, 10% software. It's one of the first notes I'd sound with every client. For those on the ball, it's a relief to hear. It means there's action they can take to influence adoption (and value), as opposed to being 100% dependent on a handful of feature-keepers they've never met. On the literacy front, especially around email, Mark Hurst has a particularly zen/eastern approach to help manage the flow -- http://bitliteracy.com/. We used it company-wide back at Creative Good (some were white belts, others black; i was definitely closer to the former).
