Matt I retweeted your tweet, and put one of my own on there. I only have 64 followers, but what the heck.
Rubicon Rescue - Mission Haiti
A good friend of mine reached out to me to get some medical supplies and doctors into Haiti. The plan was to get the supplies, docs, and SF medics into the Dominican Republic and convoy into Haiti. Since convoys have been attacked from the DR, you need to have security personnel who can sub as...
USArmyAfrica is a great Twitter feed. I think they were the first with info that the bomber's father had warned us. I am learning a heck of a lot about Africa through them. I highly recommend that if you're on Twitter to follow them.
Roundtable: US Army Africa
We spoke yesterday with MG William B. Garrett III, commanding general of United States Army Africa. The transcript from the call is here. US Army Africa reports directly to the Department of the Army, and as the newest Army Service Command, is assigned to USAFRICOM. It therefore shares AFRICOM...
Andrew, you are my totally FAVORITE writer! LOL. This was a masterpiece. I guess not everyone gets your delicious sense of humor. Too bad for them
Carrie Prejean confirms 'sex tape,' but ...
Carrie Prejean, some might remember, is the California beauty queen who gained instant ignominy in some circles by agreeing with President Obama's ridiculous notion that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. This was said to make Prejean outrageously conservative although Obama,...
Walid Shoebat (a former jihadist) sent this out tonight:
Below is National Press Release Going out Tomorrow. Before we go on the attack in the Media let us all pray for the victims and their families in this terrible tragedy in Ft Hood.
TO WHAT LEVEL IS US MILITARY, FBI, CIA, DEPT. OF HOMELAND SECURITY INFILTRATED W. MUSLIM JIHADISTS?
In the wake of the cowardly Ft. Hoot mass fatal shooting of 11 or more unarmed U.S. soldiers by Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, America has the right to know the truth about sleeper war cells in the U.S.
Walid Shoebat Former Islamic Terrorist who was once part of Jihad war cells in the US and understands fully the mindset of terrorists has been warning America of the potential of this very type of tragedy and worse for many years.
Shoebat contends that the US Army, Navy, Air Force, FBI, CIA, Dept. of Homeland Security are all infiltrated with Muslim Extremists.
“America needs to awaken from its sleep and its unwillingness to face the issue of fundamentalist Islam in our midst which undoubtedly is the cause of the tragedy in Ft Hood” says Mr. Shoebat, adding, “Some very serious decisions need to made when it comes to having Muslims protecting our country, as it is impossible to know whether they maybe honorable or foxes in the hen house.”
Walid is the author of the book “Why We Want To Kill You, The Jihad Mindset and How to Defeat it."
INTERVIEW TALKING POINTS
By Walid Shoebat:
-- Nidal Malik Hasan is NOT a convert but Jordanian Muslim SINCE BIRTH! Infiltration by Islamists in the military is a fact My own brother served in the United States Air Force and his loyalty was to his ideology, yet allowing him to guard nuclear facilities should be on check. Religion is a sensitive issue but we should not undermine our security from fear of ‘Islamophobia.’
-- Muslims by Sharia Law are mandated never to fight Muslims. Muslim soldiers need to be questioned whether this is an issue, yet we virtually never question them.
-- Converts to Islam are susceptible to Islamization, the case of Sgt. Hassan Akbar from Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait killed two Americans and was influenced by the MSU (Muslim Student Association), also Ali Muhammad a double agent that worked for the FBI and collaborated with Al-Qaeda
-- Speaking at the Air Force Academy in Colorado to expose the infiltration of Islamist. Not only were over a hundred of Middle Eastern Muslims allowed to infiltrate, but were also allowed to threaten us with death with no repercussions whatsoever -- Omar Khalifa, a student, got away with the threats and while Khalifa was related to Osama Bin Laden's son-in-law, he was largely ignored!
-- At the Marines, our event was cancelled as to ‘not to offend Saudi visitors. At Camp Bullis was a Muslim in the U.S army who said he was ‘offended’ that I spoke on the issue of terrorism. Has ‘Political correctness’ seeped into our military apparatus to the point where no one can say anything lest they risk we offend someone? When Americans are being killed, all issues should be on the table.
-- The big question: Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome or Terrorism?
Nidal never served in Iraq or Afghanistan to qualify as a candidate for Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

Bless you! Thank you so much. I just kept picturing the family members' faces. The send off ceremony was last Friday at Reid Park in Tucson, outdoors, quite a change from the usual armory ceremony. Quite beautiful, in fact. Then we (PGR) escorted the buses the next morning to the airport. There's a guy in our group, God love him, who races to the front of the line, hops off his bike, and takes pictures. He does this all along the route. Then he makes up a bunch of cd's and gives them to any of the families who want them. We're pretty close to our Guard here in AZ.

I just finished the book last night. I admire his courage and honesty no end, and I'd like to thank our David Bellavia for encouraging him to write the book, and hooking him up with his co-author.
The Epilogue particularly struck home with me, and I know just to whom I will be giving this book.... a Marine who came home from Iraq to an empty house last year ... who got arrested a few weeks ago, and was allowed to enter treatment for alcoholism in the local men's rehab, which he got kicked out of for physical violence. I know that I can't help him, but perhaps if he reads Jeremiah's book he'll really know he's not alone.
And about the tie ... Jeremiah looks good in anything. lol
Jeremiah Workman on Fox and Friends
Jeremiah was on the show this AM to talk about his book Shadow of the Sword. Nice tie buddy.

9-12- Reports from MK Ham and Uncle J
I stepped off the Metro today and saw an amazing number of people from all over America in town to talk to their government. MK Ham reports on the festivities, I admit to giddiness and some pics of the best signage. Good stuff over at This Aint Hell. Reason was out there and caught the DouC...
A person who is that totally self-absorbed will never realize it. She is now claiming that the news station misrepresented her email. Hey man, it's right there in black and white. What's to misrepresent? She has a problem communicating, I would say, besides being selfish. She'd be better off shutting up, as she's just digging a deeper hole.

I just want to say that I've been a member of the PGR since January 2006, went on the first mission here in Az in February 2006 in Safford for a young Marine. We came from all over the state, and none of us knew what we were doing, it was all so new, but by God we had respect for our Marine and his family. The scuzzy guys she was complaining about are road guards who are pretty damned experienced in controlling traffic. I'm in awe of them, as it can get pretty hairy at times. The PGR are some of the finest people I've ever met in my life, and I'll be 64 on Sunday. They'll drop everything in a moment's notice for you. They LIVE to honor our military and their families. I'd say about 80 per cent or higher are Vietnam Vets. The healing I've seen over the past 3 + years is palpable. You see many patches of "Never Again". As you can probably tell, I love them.
"Inconvenienced" Doesn't Begin to Describe It
Sergeant First Class William "Brian" Woods was a Team Medical Sergeant of Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne). On August 14th, Brian was shot and killed by small arms fire in Ghazni, Afghanistan. At 32 years old, Brian had done multiple tours of duty in the War on ...
Dacker, I just posted a comment over on your blog stating that the father of the fallen Marine TWICE asked the AP NOT to post the photo, and they went ahead and did it anyway. Here's audio of part of an interview that he did:

Also read this by the mother of a soldier who was wounded:

The AP is despicable for doing this.
I respect your service,Sir, and I thank you for it. BTW, what is it that you dot't like about other milblogs that caused you so start your own? I'd be very interested to hear your take on things.

God love ya, Kev, and keep you safe. And Leta, thank you for all you do, and with such a great sense of humor, too!
Kev leaves from leave
The TankerBabe went to see Kev off back to Iraq after his mid-tour leave. How sweet. I on the other hand maintain my strong disdain for the troops.

The Ugly of War
This is why grunts love medics...we also know that they pay a big price for what they do. This is something that I think everyone should watch (warning: the descriptions are graphic), but it's not easy. It's not easy at all... After the jump, I'll post a piece that I think is from LTC (ret) ...

Giving Back Their Names
The other day, in doing this post, I realized that a post I thought I had done never made it up. Back during my first embed, I came home via Landstuhl and Walter Reed. While I Landstuhl, I was privileged to be there when the wounded arrived and to learn about the process first hand. There...
