I do wish that emoticons conveyed fully the expression one (or I) have when reading a perfect blog entry - something akin to a gentle smile and a quiet exhale. :) Heal quickly, Nicole

I had the same thought as Renee - when my grandmother cooked for me, it was her way of saying, "You are LOVED." So, although I love to cook for the loves in and of my life, I also really appreciate when others cook for me. In such a busy world, it really is an act of love to slow down (or add another 'to do' to your long list) and cook for someone else. It communicates, "You are LOVED." -n PS I have been a cooking funk also - and reading your post reminded me that I should go pull out my notebook from 30 Day Vegan. I can use your ideas for dinner this weekend, while I turn my energy to other areas of my creative life.

This made me happy and reminded me why I so gladly make my 1st graders lunch everyday, despite the option to have her buy her lunch. Her little school has worked hard to revamp their lunch offerings, but even their best isn't as good as my simple sandwich, yogurt, and (occasional) homemade dark chocolate chip cookies (spiked with some ground chia seeds and other nutrient boosters).

We love the Greek Burgers from the first year of the magazine. (I am not sure which issue the recipe is in). It calls for lamb but we use ground chicken instead.

Heather, I am so glad I found your blog. That sounds perfect. How cool that you have a co-op up the street? We have a Trader Joe's? ;) (Although I love love it). Two feet??? Holy moly! Schools are still closed here from our fantastic six inches (you know, with the 5 snow plows and all).

We are snowed in Atlanta as well, although some stores here and there began opening today. Apparently there are only 5 snowplows in our whole county (and the largest county in the state I think). We love it!

Um, exactly how cold is it in your house? Wool tights and long johns and wool skirts? Brrr. Of course we are in Atlanta and got six inches of snow on Sunday night, resulting in the third straight day of school closure, so perhaps I should not judge ;)
