I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions, I think it puts a lot of pressure on the first few weeks of the year when you are still trying to train yourself out of putting the wrong date on forms, checks and documents at work. But I've been trying actively improve my life for quiet a while now, and where these might not be 'resolutions' I'm still think they're good ideas. Since everyone else is trying to improve the quality of their lives, I'd let you all know what it is I'm working on, this and every year: Love more, hate... Continue reading

Well,my public, I've come to a conculsion: I'm not a big enough procrastinator to blog about that. I'm not a big enough procrastinator to blog about ONLY that at any rate, so I'm having a change of heart. That path and I are going our seperate ways, though it may play a theme or two in the future I'm not going to worry about it. Instead I'm going to give you a larger slice of the Poncho Pie. 1 Does that mean no more sarcastic green voice? Oh no, I couldn't live without that! It just means I'm going to... Continue reading

I'm a procrastinator who likes getting things done. I don't think I like being a procrastinator, it's just a well ingrained habit. Like a smoker who hates smoking and is too lazy to quit, too afraid of withdrawals to go through with it. You can tell them, and they know, they'd get the health and monetary benefits; but something unseen comes between that knowledge and actually doing something about it. On second thought, I don't like that analogy, it fits too well. I wasn't born a procrastinator. I love the feeling of getting things done: a clean room, a finished... Continue reading

Dear Gentle, and not so gentle readers: Today's post will either be late or just not happen due to financial error on the automated front. Oh, and Screw Chase. That is all. Continue reading

How do you know you're a procrastinator? I suppose I could just be lazy, but I'm pretty sure from years of schooling that's not it. You can give me a term paper and I won't work on it unprovoked until the last minute. I can know it's due tomorrow and still be doing something else until I know that it has to be started or it won't get done. All in all, I have a test that will put in mind if you have a problem that will work for 60% of the population: the Laundry Test. 1 The Laundry... Continue reading

Dear Readers: I've rethought the daily post idea. Since I started this blog I've been too busy to update it and decided that I will be coming to you, live or pre-recorded, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Procrastination as a word dates back to the 1500’s. Procrastination as an act dates back to when the first cave teen decided not to make the fire but hang out with the cool kids having finally found an in. 1 Personally I’m not sure when I started to put off doing things, but I’m sure I learned the habit from my older brother. I... Continue reading

Well, after 32 trips around the sun, I've discovered that Mondays are the enemy. I can be upright and productive on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday; Mondays are the "do things" killer. They are the procrastination breeder. I try to get out of bed, but as the old Taoist wisdom states: Do or do not, there is no try. (1) So rather then a great post on the origin of procrastination, you get this ramble. Now, to once again borrow from Taoist handbooks I've been scarfing down lately, I will point out that an occasional Yin, or restful, period is... Continue reading

Greetings! Here is the awkward stand-up-in-class-and-tell-them-about-you bit: My name is Jennifer Mullen. I live in seasonally challenged Southern California, have an Associate of Science in the field of Graphic Design and Multimedia, and still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. Or if I want to grow up for that matter. I am a geek, a procrastinator and a dreamer. I want to be an artist, a creative force to be reckoned with, someone who can get up in the morning and get something done.(1) So if you're Jennifer, why is this Poncho's Blog?(2) Glad you... I have been following your blog for a long time, and now I have a blog of my own. Now if life would send me a DO SOMETHING reminder everyday, I might get something done :)
