My problem is usually finishing it once it is almost done--if I can "see" the finished product, to me it's often easy to quit! Dumb, huh, if I can't wear it! Donna, I noticed this about myself likewise. In my case, I can get easily discouraged if the item does not look the way I wanted it to or I thought it would. I noticed also though, that it is the finishing touches that the item needs to look the way it is supposed to. Needles to say, I also have a few half finished projects laying around. Previously I posted a picture of a navy blue skirt ... I started this one last year in August, I just finished it a week ago. I does give me a feeling of completion to take something to the end ... go figure!
On my table
I just finished tracing the pattern for this blouse from Patrones Winter 2009. This is the first time I am using Patrones. So far I worked with BWOF and Hotpatterns with not so satisfying results. Back to the blouse ... I have a hard time deciding which fabric to use. I am slightly...
Hi Donna,
not yet. I just washed it, will iron it and cut into it. I might finish it sometime next week. I will post.
Thanks for the input.
Back to your previous reply ... it is greatly satisfying to be able to make one's own clothing. I highly recommend it! I myself started sewing again (being on a break since I was 10),and it is one of my favorite activities now.

Hi Sigrid,
Thank you. Yes, the neck is hand finished. I simply rolled it in and whip stitch it.
Over time
These are some of the item I made since I singed up. The T-shirts are traced from old Gap long sleeve T. They came out great and are super easy to make. I guess Gap lost one customer. The skirt is BWOF June 2009. It is OK, not great. I think the choice of fabric was not that lucky. ...
These are some good looking and well done bras. I wish I could make my own ... especially given that a good bra can be rather costly item. Can you post a link to who organized the workshop? A tutorial, please?
New bras !!!
Hello refashionistas !!! It has been a LONG time that I have not posted. I took a workshop on BRA making last week-end and I would like to show you what I made. It is not a refashion but I plan on using the patterns with old t-shirts and lacey clothes to make cuter ones. Here is the first on...

Hello! This was my project I made last week, just in time for my b-day which was last Wednesday! (I finished these up Monday night last week.) I had a pair of blowfish miami Humvee boots that I had bought late in the summer. They are gray wool and I could barely zip them up my calf. But I could ...

This is really stunning. Great craftsmanship.
Baby birdie quilt
Inspired by Clutterpunk's threadsketching tutorial. And some of the darling quilt squares by Etsy artist Baumcat. I made a birdie baby quilt for my expectant friend. She is having a boy. The front is an old, very soft, khaki-colored cotton sheet. The back is a remnant of red fleece. The ...
I rather like this also. Would you please post a picture of the finished project?

I love it! I like how "structural" it is. The white gives is softness.
not actually done yet: botanical wool max/owl helmet hat
I set out to make a winter hat in white a while ago. Finally I got back on the ball, partially inspired by the perfect last minute find: a thick wool scarf of huge yarn at a buy sell trade shop for $5. The hat body is mainly a wool sweater some housemate of mine abandoned after a hot water wash...
really great top. beautiful fabric too. I also like the Japanese touch to it. Very well done.
3/4 pants to a top
I took the scissors to this pair of 3/4 pants that were getting a bit tired though I still loved the fabric, and made this simple Japanese style top of my own design. It is symmetrical with one asymmetrical detail (the button closure) in keeping with traditional Japanese architecture... I kept...

I love your work on ETSY. What do the bags feel like to the touch after they are finished?
Latest upcycled bag
I buy decent handbags in thriftshops and upcycle them to sell. But sometimes I keep one for myself, about once a season, and this is my bag for the new year... The photo I used is from Flickr Commons uploads by the National Library of Wales, it's a portrait of Sarah Edith Wynne, aka "Eos C...
