More! More baby pics and MORE baby clothes. Never gets old
in appreciation
(This might very well push me over the edge of appropriate number of blogged baby photos per week. My apologies, but it cannot be helped.) {Saartje's bootees (a gift), Kicking Bag for Babies, Baby Bootees, Picky Pants, Baby Surprise Jacket, Baby Bootees and the Pebble Vest.} Feelin...

surgery day
This photo was taken a few days ago. We had a picnic with friends at a local creamery's ice cream stand out in the country. As I look at it now, I'm comforted. Here I am, back at the pumping room in the hospital - all the familiar-yet-not-comforting smells and sounds. That little smile up ther...
When we get our farm (ha!!) I intend to get bees too. I've read all the books, been on the courses but the only thing I lack (apart from the money to buy the stuff?) - the space! If I had a flat roof I would totally be an urban apiarist right now, but til then I'll be happy to pop by on yours for a while. They are very beautiful ladies. (oh and my (just turned) six year old calls drones 'drunks'.... no idea, but very funny).
the bees!
Just after Annabel was born, we got the call that our bees were ready! (I would be seriously remiss in mentioning their arrival without mentioning how they arrived. Steve, who never set out to be the beekeeper (but certainly is now), and didn't take the class or read the books, and never start...
I do sometimes marvel at women who seem to thrive on pregnancy and childbirth. My second was awful - I couldn't walk for the last five months with a trapped leg nerve and nearly three weeks overdue I was a gibbering emotional hormonal wreck. Certainly put me off going for any more. glad to hear your story worked out so well. Love the clothes too xx
she
There's something I didn't tell you before Annabel was born. I knew she was a she. Well, really, I knew she was a girl way back in October, because sometimes a Mama just knows these things, you know? It's true. And I just knew. But we knew for certain a few weeks before her arrival, at my fi...

on papas day
This morning, Father's Day, is one of the very few days of the year when I rise earlier than Steve. With a baby on my chest and four bigger ones at my side, we began our Mother's Day/Father's Day/Birthday tradition of a sleep-in and breakfast in bed. As we all scurried about baking and making, ...

I'm still sulking that you went to London but is there anywhere you can get that grey tartan online?
London Fabrics
Some new fabrics bought on a trip to London yesterday. The top one is a Jack Wills red and grey tartan and the bottom one is a Liberty lawn. The middle three are just some cotton basics. These yellows and greys are still my favourites at the moment though. The top one is another Jack W...

Saltaire Arts Trail
Next weekend I'm taking part in the Saltaire Arts Trail for the first time. It's the fifth year for this amazing three day event, and I'm very excited to be involved. Saltaire itself is a World Heritage site near Bradford that was named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill and the v...

a quilt, inspired by the shore
When I first dreamed up this little quilt last summer, I knew (or hoped rather, at that point) that this home would be ours. That we would be trading our proximity to the beloved shore for so very many other things we had been longing for (and yet, it still really isn't that far away, and fo...
I love it when the spontaneous creating times take off like that. PLanned events never go so well in our house. :)
(purple) bliss
Adelaide and I found ourselves playing a(nother) game of Memory on a(nother) rainy afternoon this weekend. With a house full of sniffly, resting, and otherwise occupied boys, she sighed and I sighed as the rain pitter-pattered outside, neither of us terribly invested in the game in front of us, ...
