Amanda, When I came across your blog last year I could feel that creative person in me stir, stretch and awaken. I was always making something when I was younger, right up through high school. But then college, jobs, marriage, basically life's responsibilities took over. The paint, yarn, ribbons, they all got tucked away in my closet. I read lots of parenting books and magazines when my first daughter was born but I never saw myself in all the descriptions and ads that portrayed motherhood. That is until I clicked on a link to your blog. I immediately felt like myself again. Your pictures of children and nature were what I had been searching for, without knowing it. Not only did I pull out my boxes and bags of crafts, now I have a whole room for them. I love your stories about vintage green couches and lazy day skirts. If you only knew how many people you touch. Every day. Thank you for your inspiration and if it helps just a little to know that as a mother, I've been there. Pour yourself a cup of coffee, take a deep breath. Today is a new day. Lia

Heidi was the first book I remember reading. I was so proud when I finished each chapter. Now that my first grader is reading I may have to get a copy for her. Thanks for bringing back a wonderful memory.

Beautiful pictures and the recipies look yummy. I read the article and it made me sad, but it's so true. All the more reason for me to grow more of my own foods. I'm just starting but if I can do it anyone can.
