Wil, if you ever need a co-op partner for Portal 2 give me a holler. I just got it the other day and I am the same way. Just one more level and I swear I will be done because I have school at 8 a.m.. I look at the clock and its like 2 a.m. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU.
FedCon Day 4
I don't drink at cons. I mean, I'll have a beer or maybe a glass of wine with dinner, but I don't go out drinking the way young people go out drinking, even though I usually see people I love and it would be a lot of fun to go out to a pub for some pints. I figure that I'm already pushing my bod...
I am so going to use the word "Broglish" now. Thank you for introducing me to this word. My one friend goes to college at OSU in Ohio and I always mess with him and say he goes to BrOSU. Never gets old.
Wil buys a new game. It's super effective!
A pair of twenty-something Bros, dressed and posed in a manner that was such a hilarious cliche, if I described them exactly as I saw them, my editor would have said, "no, that's too cliche," stood near the front of the store, communicating in some kind of Broglish that leaned heavily on the wor...
I agree with you on that, but I just feel that every retailer or online seller always offers different incentive pre-order extras. I always feel like I am never getting the full experience the game developer wanted me to have. At the very least, they can give the same pre-order bonuses to all retailers. Granted, its usually something insignificant like armor or a new character skin, but still. Its the principle that counts. As of lately, its as if the game developers really care more about our wallets than a strong fan base. Whether or not you want to chalk that up to the poor economy is up to you, but the old days of having a complete game with no bugs from day one are over. I = sad. : _ - (
on video game reviews and the power and influence of marketing
I came across this post at No High Scores yesterday. It's about how mega publishers are starting to limit access to the media in terms of review copies, overall access, as well as in potential ad money. There are a lot of great things about working in the games industry. You know what the bes...
I refuse to go to gamestop anymore. They used to be a good store back in the day, but now it is just rip off central. I try and trade in a game or ask one single question and I get bombarded with requests to pre-order the latest game to make sure I get that extra piece of armor in the game or something stupid. I get all my games from Amazon or my local independent game shop now. It is just better that way. Down with gamestop!

Usually my cats wake me up, but instead of giving me a lovely nudge they put their asses in my face. Its quite awful in fact.
each sensation makes a note in my symphony
The alarm went off at 7 this morning. Though I was asleep around 11 last night, the jolt of misery that shot through my body as I reached over to turn it off confirmed -- again -- that I am not a Morning Person. I slowly opened my eyes, and saw that Anne had already gotten out of bed. In her pla...
I saw the picture before I read the story so as I was reading I was thinking, "Is his speech really that long?" Ha. Good times.
time keeps on slippin'...
As some of you know, for the last six weeks, I've been working night and day on my PAX Keynote, which I deliver in 176 hours. It's been a long and sometimes agonizing road but after intensely bouncing drafts back and forth with Andrew this week, I have a draft that I can begin polishing. This me...
Wil I haven't been to your site as much as I would like to lately due to school, but I still try to keep up with your work. I didn't even know you were coming out with a new book. However, the second your page loaded up and I saw the post about your book on sale I was logging on to lulu.com within minutes to buy a copy. Thats how amazing of an author you are to me. No other author has ever had that much of an influence on me to buy something from them without giving a seconds thought. You however have accomplished that and that is why you are my favorite author Wil. I can't wait to get this book in the mail and read your posts all over again. :) Congratulations on another book Wil :)

sunken treasure goes on sale
As promised, Sunken Treasure is now officially on sale! I have created two editions, a US Edition and a World Edition. They are identical in content, but the World Edition is in a slightly larger format, so it's $2.00 more. The trade off is that you don't have to spend a million dollars on shi...

If you live in that part of the Venn Diagram where Star Trek and Monty Python overlap, (as I do) I suspect you will be glad you watched this. (epic thanks to Sean L. for e-mailing this to me.)

I am reading like 5 books right now. I feel like an idiot because I can never just read one at a time. The main one that is occupying me is American Psycho. I love it. Also, The Dark Tower Part 2.
Q: What book are you currently reading? Is it good so far?
I don't do memes, because once I start, I doubt I'd be able to stop. That wouldn't end well for anyone, especially my cat who is bacon-averse. This morning, though, while I was Propelling, I stopped at SF Signal and saw Quick Meme: What are You Reading? Q: What book are you currently reading? I...

Your new story in Star Trek: Uchu was awesome Wil!! Can't wait for the next one.
reminder: I'll be in Sacramento this weekend
This is just a reminder that I'll be in Sacramento this weekend for the Sci-Fi/Horror convention From The Land Beyond (Saturday) and the anime convention Sacanime Comic convention SacCon (Sunday). I just got a bunch of copies of Uchu, the latest Star Trek manga, so I'll have those with me in add...

43. Wil Wheaton is Rorschach.
file under "more awesome stuff I totally don't deserve"
A blogger called Mr. Truth ("Mr. Truth's love for the truth began at the age of three upon uncovering the Santa Conspiracy") read Just A Geek and was inspired to create a list called 10 Unknown Facts about Wil Wheaton. I think it's really awesome and really hilarious, mostly because the geekier ...

Wil, you need to start coming to Cincinnati.
Wil Wheaton's 2008 PAX Schedule
Please excuse the indexing-friendly title. I hate it as much as you do, but I know there are literally fives of people on the Internets who may want to know this vital information for the coming weekend. I'll be at Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle this weekend. I'm not keynoting, but I am on a coupl...

I lost my Rocky Horror Virginity a few months ago while I was still 17. I remember right when I walked in I was asked if I was a virgin not knowing what he really meant. I said yes and I had a virgin sticker placed on me. When they called all virgins to the front they made us all eat baby food in front of everyone. Then a man dressed as Tim Currys character made me show my nipple to him for a twizzler. Good times. Singing along was also fun too. :)
when you dressed up sharp and you felt alright
A few days after my sixteenth birthday, I lost my Rocky Horror virginity with my best friend, in a shitty little duplex theater in Van Nuys. I'd wanted to see Rocky since I was ten or eleven on my way to an audition and my mom drove us past a marquee advertising a midnight showing every Saturday...

You are way too hard on yourself Wil. Calm down and take a deep breath. I am sure if I ever met you I would do the exact same thing though. :)
in which i fail a vital saving throw
It was the end of the day, and my blood sugar was dangerously low. Colors and sounds were louder than they should have been. My feet and legs had been replaced by two dull, throbbing stumps that barely supported the weight of my body. Most of the day, I'd been signing autographs for and talking ...

Hey Wil. Nice story. Also, thanks for telling me about this site. I have always had a secret ambition to write, but wasn't sure where I could do it. I Just wrote my first story. Hopefully people will read it and I can get some good feedback.

Thanks again Wil. :)
