I absolutely love your process. - and relate to the tummy quiver. I've now come to know it as excitement. It gets better. ; ) You are a sweetie to mention my blog for inspiration. That's exactly what you are to me. Our book is coming out in two weeks. Your "Girl in the Red Dress" looks so lovely in print.

Of course now you have our collaborative Red Dress piece to never forget the feeling. Loving your 365 project. So brilliant. I see it in The New Yorker.

I'm so glad this is being talked about passionately. I just discovered this week that my designs were downloaded 260 times in one day. Upon further investigation it turns out that has been happening for a long time. As I researched, I learned that this is happening to a lot of designers. Businesses are grabbing the talent/the template for their collateral and sending them to lndia or Indonesia to be reproduced for 4.00 per hour. So I've taken down my portfolio. I'm in the process of watermarking and applying javascript to lock out some of this activity for my fine art site and my design site. But it's false security in a way...because screenshots can be taken and production designers can recreate the layers. But it makes it a little harder. I'm hoping to see lots of artists and designers watermark in the near future. It lets the public know we are aware, we care about our work, we respect our work and talent. I'm also thinking of an article about this for Communication Arts. I've been published there before so perhaps I could get this in there. I'll call Creative Commons and find out their views as well.

Yes, yes...I'd love to be a part of this. Never a better time than now when I'm swimming in it. Is the next one in April?

OMG, I'm so there in this one. I resolved to spend at least 2 hours a week finding help and re arranging budget to pay people to help me. Everything from digitizing my drawings to cleaning the toilet. Because I'm tired a lot from doing everything, the people I've hired to help at very affordable rates are doing things so much faster then I was. It's been an amazing and rapid relief. Why didn't I do this before? I still have a ways to go. But maybe this is a start. Love how you write Lizzie

My UCLA professor suggests we make our characters larger than life. Is another way to say it... larger than the structure that holds it--whether prose, script, play? Larger than the interior bits of personality of the author that wants to take over ? Or... whether you type with your toes... Continue reading
