I'm straying from the prompts for a post because I've been having some fun over on Instagram. I bought a little plush doll from Avenging Plushies on Etsy. I have been taking him around with me everywhere and photographing him. It's been a fun way to decompress during a difficult... Continue reading

Today's prompt is actually about what tattoos I have but that will be quite involved and I don't have the energy for it right now. For the book I loved I have to choose Furiously Happy by Jenny "The Bloggess" Lawson. I finished this yesterday and loved it even more... Continue reading

People are fascinating generally so it's a little hard to pin down just one, but given my current obsession with the Broadway musical Hamilton I guess I'll have to go with its writer and star, Lin-Manuel Miranda. He's fascinating for any number of reasons but mostly for me it's his... Continue reading

I need to come up and play with your dogs. I miss having Labs in my life. They were such wonderful companions to grow up around. I was always resentful that my parents didn't have seeing eye dogs but I got to play with my Godparents dogs and all of my parents' friends who did have them.
That's so weird. I wonder where it will be next year.
The answer to this one is Scotland. Why? Well, because of this: ...and this ...but let's face it, it's mostly because of this Reading the Outlander books has gifted me with a huge obsession for Scotland. It's obviously beautiful and there appear to be areas where the humans are very... Continue reading

Good to know, just in case I ever get more creative than one line, lol. I've always been good with opening sentences, it's the rest that I find difficult.
1 - I am totally cheating my way through NaBloPoMo and I don't even care. You will get 30 posts this month, come hell or high water but I've stopped stressing whether it will be everyday or not. If I did I'd give up already and I really don't want... Continue reading

My first kiss and first love were a tad complicated and depressing so I decided to go with the Ten on Tuesday prompt for today,: Ten Sentences That Would Be Great First Lines for a Novel 1 - She woke up with no clue where she was or even who... Continue reading

I never went on vacation as a kid. Not as an older kid anyway. I lived with my grandparents until I was five. I have a clear memory of going on vacation with them and my mother to a place called Vail's Gate, it's a place in New York State... Continue reading

I have been very absent from the blog over here. Susan thankfully has been holding down the fort. I have been writing, just in a different venue. Some friends of mine and I have started a new website, On Wednesdays We Wear Capes where we expound on pop culture and... Continue reading

I've got Boy on Ice but haven't read it yet. I also want to read Sharp Objects as I'm split on her other two so it will be best two out of three lol. School decidedly cuts into pleasure reading. All I can find time to read are graphic novels it seems.

The Ten on Tuesday topic for 10/21 is 10 Things You Would Save If Your House Was On Fire. For the purpose of this exercise we are assuming that all of your family and pets are safe, we are just focusing on the stuff. This was tougher than I expected.... Continue reading

October is my favorite month of the year for a number of reasons. The color of the leaves, the return of all the pumpkin things, hoodie weather and because it has my favorite day of the year in it...Halloween! In honor of that we have today's Ten on Tuesday, my... Continue reading

Poor Pepsi. I'm glad he's doing better. Vet bills are the worst but what can you do. Sorry about the laptop. It's been quite an expensive month for you :/
There are so many films that I use for cinematherapy. I can watch them again and again and lose myself and my worries in them for a little while. They're not always critical acclaimed films but something in them touches something in me and that's all that really matters. Here... Continue reading

Look at me writing a 10 on Tuesday post and actually getting it posted. Who am I? Ahh Summer, how I hate it. I am not a fan of the heat so I like anything that will cool me down and keep me hydrated but honestly most of these I... Continue reading

I'm absolutely in love with that dog. I may try to take him home with me.
Typepad ate my post and I am too fried to recreate it. Can I do a throwback thursday to a ten on tuesday ;)
As I confessed recently, Whole30 ended up being Whole11. I felt mentally foggy and miserable although I can't deny physically I felt pretty good. My immune system has gone to shit though and it's upsetting me. I thought it was stress over the last few years that made me get the shingles and be sick every two months but even now that things have calmed down I am still sick every other month, mildly but still, and now I appear to be prone to infections (had a cut on my finger that I had to go to the ER for) and severe allergic reactions (I broke out in a severe rash over the weekend that still hasn't passed, don't even know what from). I have got to get myself together physically. I hate being this illness prone :(

I so wanted to do this yesterday, so screw it I'm doing it a day late LOL. Pat Benatar is the only one who will be on my list also. I'm jealous of a number of these.
I read a lot of touchy feely/flaky/Shirley MacLaine type stuff. While I can't say I buy into it 100%, the 10-30% I do buy into, I often find helpful. A few months back when I was having particularly bad issues with my brain going into high spin and the anxiety... Continue reading
