I solved the puzzler that I brought to Cocoaheads NYC a few weeks ago. For some background, I have mostly written iOS apps, and I had written my first Mac App (Blinged JSON Validator, and yes, it is awesome), and... Continue reading

I can't call myself a buddhist, but we are the sum of what our peers are. My dad used to say that even if you think you aren't a bad person, if who you call your friends are bad people... Continue reading

The cover art for the "Run for Cover" issue of V as in Victor speaks to me. It came out the week after cancelling the marathon, when Manhattan still sat in the dark. It was when we were forced to... Continue reading

Are New Yorkers entirely disconnected from nature as Via Media suggested? My vote is a hearty Ain't No Way, Hon. Couldn't we argue that New Yorkers are more in touch with nature than folks who never put a foot outside... Continue reading

I think they could have furthered the fun/humiliation had they cleared the placement of completed states. As a next challenge, it would be fun to overlay major bodies of water or mountain ranges or the birthplaces of famous hip hop artists. -- Natalie 94%, Avg Error: 14 miles, Time: 295 seconds, Troll Level: Medium-High

For all of New York's low and high points in the Quality of Life category, the subway is one of the most critical. It's the people's transportation, the great class equalizer. It shows us what people are wearing, what people... Continue reading

Here are a subset of thoughts that happened as my flight was delayed, until the current moment, where I have about four remaining hours until we touch down in San Francisco. Bring back the Live Blog, I say! Can't keep... Continue reading

I felt the same way, though I still enjoyed the movie overall. I know that suburban audiences have a distanced love for New York, so these scenes just seem like a lot of fun with destruction and NYPD-hat-wearing cops, but, I find nothing more terrifying than seeing people attacked in their workplace, flailing their arms, screaming, powerless at a high elevation.

My boyfriend and I often disagree about dragging each other to see things. I admit that I'm a perpetual button-pusher, a semi-professional goader, and a more-than-full-time Troll of a girlfriend. "What is a partnership if we don't make each other... Continue reading

Liz Phair pushed my LDR support over the edge and convinced me to buy the album. And, now that I have, I can confidently say (a) it's not as bad as people make it out to be, (b) it's not spectacular, either, (c) LDR's fate is in country music. Wiig (and/or the SNL writers) are also pro-LDR. Soak it up! http://www.papermag.com/2012/02/the_morning_funnies_tom_bradys.php
