Why are we so hard on ourselves? I have wondered this for some time. We are critical of ourselves. We analyze our flaws to microscopic detail. We get angry and don't believe the truth of our worth. Here's a secret: Find one positive thing and you have tipped the scales in your favor. What?!? That's right. If you can find one thing, no matter how small, insignificant, or meaningless you think something is - your dead wrong. We all have a value. We all matter. We all do work that equals good deeds. All you have to do is find... Continue reading

If you haven't seen foursquare - you need to check it out first I have been learning about the social networking site, foursquare for about two weeks now. While I'm no foursquare master, I think foursquare might be hotter than Twitter for 2010. It's location based service is not new to the social networking scene. Brightkite lead the charge as early as 2008 merging location based service, twitter-esque posts, and picture sharing they led broke ground with this extraordinary model. Foursquare currently is in the same mode as Twitter was in 2007. I remember watching Twitter from afar being an... Continue reading

Every now and then I have to go deep. Today is that day. What if today was your last day? Each day is a gift, not a given right. That's what Nickelback sings of in the song, "If Today Was Your Last Day". So let's have some fun today. If today was your last day and you knew it, how would you handle it? Would you forgive you enemies? Would you tell the people you love that you love them? What would you do? What wouldn't you do? Remember tomorrow is too late because it's over after today. I can... Here is another great post from Dave Ramsey.com. Dave is a nationally syndicated radio host and a New York Times bestselling author. He is also the host of "The Dave Ramsey Show" found on the Fox Business Network. In this older post, he covers how to find your strengths. I promise you just by checking out this post you will have a much clearer understanding of what the structure is for determining what your strengths are. It made me think about my strengths and even my weaknesses. Enjoy! How to Find Your Strengths Continue reading

Honesty is always the best policy. Period. I am of the opinion that the media (tv, print, and radio) all want to run the stories of doom and gloom. I was very surprised tonight when my local CBS affiliate ran this story. Check it out: Honesty is the Best Policy I hope you enjoyed this story. I know I did. Have a great night, y'all! Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday. Before we get started with all the hoopla surrounding the 44th contest, I want to stand up and say... IT'S TIME TO GET SERIOUS!! I have recently realized that I have become one of the things I don't care for. A liar. I haven't lied to a spouse, my family, or even a coworker. I have lied to the only person I will know all my life. And it disgusts me to no end. I have a good life, don't get me wrong. I do. I have people who love me. I have a decent... Continue reading

Just wanted to check in quickly. I spent the evening at my seventh grader's Christmas band concert. I had a great time. Those kids played their hearts out and sounded really good. I had a great time as it gave me a chance to catch up with old friends and people I hadn't seen in a very long time whose kids, grandkids, and family were I'm attendance. Seeing that I'm mobile via the iPhone. I thought I would make this short and sweet as I realized an important lesson. I need to take the time a little more often to... Continue reading

Everything has been figured out, except how to live. Jean-Paul Sartre I happened upon this quote tonight as I was doing my daily reading. It brought me down and interesting path and I would like to share with you. Life has no playbook, blueprint, or even set of instructions. It's just a bunch of trial and error or so it would seem. Sometimes it seems the harder we try to achieve our goals the more we tend to fail. The harder we work, the more sweat and effort we pour into intentions the more it seems we often time just...
