Instead of taking days to write the perfect post about the Six Apart news (in case you don't know, Six Apart is now SAY Media), I wanted to simply jot down some of my thoughts while the news is still,... Continue »

Six Apart acquired by VideoEgg. End of an era since I've been with 6A pretty much since the beginning, working in that old dental office, hammering away on emails seated between the CEO and President. We used to all go to lunch together way back then. I got married and had a daughter while at 6A. I got to be totally open about who I am (i.e. a Burner), and got to work closely with Tokyo, my home. It's a new chapter, and this makes sense in many ways. But this is a biggie...no more "Six Apart" where we called... Continue »

Dear TypePad bloggers, It's been almost a decade since we started Six Apart. With you, the bloggers and creators, we changed the way people expressed themselves online, empowering anyone to publish and build large and... Continue »

There I was, working from home on a day where our office had no water nor internet, planning new features for a fine blogging platform, when, all of a sudden, my droopy dream pop beats were interrupted by my landlord... Continue »

Steve and Dave are Canadian bloggers hosted right here on the friendly, welcoming, and inclusive TypePad community. In their latest podcast - and once again, I'm surprised at how well some Canadians have mastered the English language - they have some things to say about the friendly, welcoming, and inclusive TypePad community. Specifically, (EDIT) they Steve believes we are "lifeless, agoraphobic, fuckfaces." [Note: If you lose track of who is who during the >1 hour podcast: Steve is the one dropping the F-bombs, Dave is the more Canadian of the two. When Dave gets upset, he gets slightly less polite.]... I'll have a hard time waiting until the US release somewhen next year to play the new Animal Crossing for 3DS—but why? There's a mix of warm memories of the Gamecube and DS versions, but also it's simply a very different experience from most other games. Continue »

The “Retina Display” of the iPhone 4 doubles the pixel density we’re used to seeing on handheld devices and thus drastically improves the sharpness of text on the web. But what about images? Continue »

After a few long whiles of upgrading and updating our Motion and client library code, last week we removed the `links` array from the API. While this may not seem like a big deal, it means our API responses are much smaller and tend to be a bit faster for... Continue »

I am hated. Despised. Virtually spit upon. All because of my car. Yesterday morning I drove in to work (which I don't often do), and parked on the side street next to the office. This is the almost "free" street; it has 1 hour parking limit but they rarely check for it. After a long day at work I came back at dusk hoping I didn't have any parking tickets. Peering at my windshield as I approached the car it seemed like I didn't have just one ticket, I had a collection. Arriving at the car I found they were... Continue »
