Australian fashion model Shanina Shaik Since I am such a big fan of Nanette Lepore's designs I was excited to get the opportunity to visit the backstage to view the makeup looks. MAC key makeup artist James Kaliaidos said of the inspiration, "It was as if Oscar Wilde had a disco party." Kaliaidos must have had disco on his mind because while interviewing he started to sing his rendition of Madonna's "Borderline. It was great so see some humor backstage. MAC 'Matchmaster' Foundation SPF 15 was applied to the skin along with MAC 'Prep + Prime' Transparent Finishing Powder . On the eyes a creamy plum: MAC 'Powerpoint' Eye Pencil in Bordeauxline and Dark Currant (from the fall trend eye palette). Mineralize Skinfinish in Center of the Universe was used on the cheeks. MAC Gloss Texture in Reflects Bronze was used for on the lips. I think the purple to looks beautiful on model Ajak's skin tone. Tyson came out to support friends and girlfriend Shanina Shaik backstage. Nanette Lepore Fall 2012 final look. You can see full collection at Nanettelepore.com. MAC Face Chart for Yigal Azrouël Fall/Winter 2012 Backstage at the Yigal Azrouël show MAC Key Artist Yadim and team worked their magic to create the look of "A modern day Francoise Hardy." To pay homage to the French singer and actress, the MAC team did subtle sculpting and highlights with a tougher brow. Yadim went for a tougher beauty look saying "She's not a girl who spends a lot of time in front of the mirror." The look was achieved by applying MAC Face and Body Foundation with their hands on moisturized skin. Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream . The crease of the eye was shaded from the inner to outer lid using MAC's Powder Blush in Taupe MAC blush in Taupe with a #224 Tapered Blending Brush . Taupe blush was added to the bottom lash lines to add contour with a #226 blending brush. 'Chromagraphic' Pencil was added to the waterline in a nude shade to brighten the eye. Blush palette used in the creation of the look. MAC blush in Taupe was used again with a #168 contour blush brush to define the cheeks. In addition, MAC blush in Something Special and Brit Wit Creme Blush were blended together, then softly dusted onto the apples of the cheeks using #188 Stripling Brush. Pearl Creme Color Base was used to create highlights to the face. The makeup team warmed the product with their finger tips and added to the high planes of the face, cupid's bow, top of the cheek bone, bridge of the nose, inner corner of the eye and the eye lid. Lips were moisturized with MAC Lip Conditioner to create a hydrated look. Yigal Azrouël Fall/Winter 2012 final look. MAC key makeup artist Diane Kendall created a look that was inspired by a "sophisticated woman". The makeup look was fresh and minimal. Very "light tones" were used to achieve the fresh faced look. Brow pencils were used to shape the brows. Black cream liner on the top of the lash line and Coffee Walnut Sculpt Shape Cream was used on the lids. Coffee Walnut Sculpt & Cream was used again to contour the cheeks and Boy Blush was added to the cheeks to add color. A concealer palette was used to finish the skin. MAC Lip Conditioner was used on the lips instead of lipstick or gloss. Reed Krakoff Fall 2012 final look. Reed Krakoff collections at reedkrakoff.com. The makeup look for Rebecca Taylor Fall 2012 collection was inspired by a rougher 'Downtown Girl'. An understated makeup look was created to compliment the collection. The look was achieved by emphasizing fuller brows, glowy highlighted skin and a sculpted cheekbone as model Herieth Paul demonstrates above. A MAC makeup artist above works to acheive the perfect brow. No gloss or lipstick was used for the look, only foundation. 'Matchmaster' foundation SPF 15 was used on the skin then a highlighter using Cream Color Base in Pearl to give the skin the pale and dewy effect. Kohl liner was used in the inner and out eyelid and smudged the the corners to give the eyes depth. In and effort to keep the eyes bare no shadow was used, only a little mascara. Final Look. There was a packed studio to view the Erin by Erin Fetherston presentation at Milk Studios. Erin wanted us to feel like we were an enchanted forest and you definitely got that feeling as the live harp music played in the background. I was excited to view the collection up close. There were beautiful embellished dresses, fabrics in chiffon, metallic and even a little bit of feathers. I thought the pieces were total glam but there were printed separates as well including a pair of silk crepe de chine yellow pants that I just loved (pictured below). The collection definitely had its share of party dress (which totally works for me) but I was glad to see a few items that I could wear casually. Sleeve wrap dress in pink abstract feather print silk chiffon. Blouson sleeve dress in black ponti and pink abstract feather print silk chiffon. Center: Black lace mesh inset bow blouse in black poly chiffon with trouser in green floral print silk crepe de chine. Back: Shirred dress in black poly chiffon with black metallic lace. Shirred strapless dress in blush lurex lolipop chiffon with powerder mesh. This would be a perfect choice for New Year's eve or dress it down with black tights and a blazer or leather jacket. Embellisted waisted dress in teal sequin with nude mesh combo. Sleeveless Fit & Flare dresss with nude power mesh cut out. This dress (also available in ivory) rested just about mid thigh. Another design in the black lurex lollipop chiffon with power mesh and cut out sleeves. This dress was one of my favorites. Ivory sequin with silver braided belt. Erin Fetherston (above) was wearing a similar embellished dress in green from her collection. A lovely collection from Erin Fetherston. I had the pleasure of meeting with Lloyd Boston at the Jones New York showroom and viewed many of JNY's upcoming looks and trends. Lloyd suggested owning signature pieces that are classic and timeless like a black suit, white shirt and nude or black pumps (I have all of these - yeah me!) Lloyd's latest book is called The Style Checklist: The Ultimate Wardrobe Essentials for You and he is currently on a brief tour. His book is definitely a keeper with great details and pictures that make you want perfect your style. Below are a few pictures from my visit to the Jones New York show room. The Black Suit Black Jersey Knit Dress Neutrals- Camel Safari Jacket Dark Blues - loves it! There were so many great looks for all seasons. Fall here I come! Continue reading
