Turns out this week is no joke. I left at 8:30 Monday morning and got home at 10:30 from a cheer board meeting. On average I get 5-10 emails a day from students between both schools. Yesterday, I counted 32... Continue reading

I never thought of granola on a salad, but that could be really good. I love having something crunchy on there.

You're right, that would be such a cool stamp to have if "Record" was your last name. :)

I didn't even know the name of that flower because it didn't have a tag, but I had to have it. :) Thankfully there are no rabbits here.

YES. That is what I keep reminding myself and what I try to talk to parents about. How meaningful these kind of extra-curricular opportunities are to students. When I worked as a high school instructional aid years ago, it was easy to see that students, no matter their academic struggles, who were involved in school did better. I often say that learning maybe the brain, but extra-curricular opportunities are the heart and soul of high school. I can't tell you how much I would love to see that packet if you would be willing to share.

Yes, I do. :) I felt I should be willing to be the cheer booster president since I was the only active returning board member from last year. I was naive and did not realize that no matter how much you talk about the power of community at meetings, no matter how much you ask for involvement, require it at times, and thank people endlessly when they do, you still can end up responsible with just a couple other people willing to sacrifice their time to make stuff happen. It's funny though...I learned a couple of years ago when I tried to cut back and not offer to host a party, that I really, really love hosting. It makes me happy to cook food and figure out cute details, no matter how busy I am.

I have a power point set up to have students work through examples of it. It shows the incorrect language and then is animated to show the correct version. I would be happy to share it if you need more resources as you plan your class.
