You are absolutely right and I am sorry to say that I am one of those people, who will not give the thumbs up to your or any other videos I liked. I don't have anything against G+. But I don't use it. I just don't need and just don't want another Social Network. Forcing me to use something is never a good idea but I'm not the one being "punished" here. The people whose stuff I and lots of other folks like are, because we will watch but not show them, if we liked it. Sorry.
