I'm always eyeballing neat stuff on the blogs I read too. ;) The postcard came in a set of seasonal ones from Mercurius - http://www.mercurius-usa.com/product_info-292_323-3369-assortment_seasons__postcards_by_marjan_van_zeyl.html They have several sets that are super cute.

Thanks for the book suggestion! I will take a look and see if the library has it. What a good idea to have an art project set up on a tray and at the ready so you can pull it out at a moment's notice. I'm going to have to start doing that too!

Deb, there is absolutely no guilt allowed while reading my blog! I know from reading yours that you do a fab job with your kiddos. It would definately be a whole different ballgame if my big kids were here and home all day too.

Great! It will be a great way to make sure that I actually *make* the tomten instead of just thinking about making it! ;)

Thanks Mari-Ann. :) The little scarf and trumpet are actually mini Christmas ornaments, so you've asked at exactly the right time! I also used buttons for several of our miniatures. Our local craft store carries some in all sorts of different themes - construction vehicles, holidays, etc. Hope that helps!

Yes, I've actually been sort of surprised by how interested Short Pants is in Pita's "lessons" - I can only assume that they hold value for him as well. It is definately a good reminder!

LOL!! Sometimes I am very thankful that Short Pants' lessons take place downstairs in the basement simply because the only time our living room is clean is from around 8:00pm on - after the littles are in bed!

Mari-Ann, I bought the tray at Target; I'm sure you could find something similar very easily. We started using the tray to keep our nature items safe from Pita Pocket! I think we're almost ready to go back to using a small table since Pita Pocket climbs on top of the kitchen table anyway!

Crap landing zone...LOL - that's the perfect name for my whole craft area - it's where everything that doesn't have a "home" lands.

So glad that others can relate. It's very difficult to be stuck somewhere between Baby Jesus and Santa, as Kylie put so well. For those who are wondering, the candle holder came from Tuesday Morning - they carry all kinds of cute German things during the Christmas season. Wendy, it's so sweet of you to offer to send a package. Of course we would love one next year! I'll be posting about our St. Nicholas celebration in the next few days. :)

Julie, Montessori is all about following the child, so it sounds like you're doing just that! I do hope everyone understands that just because I've chosen not to intro letters/numbers yet I disagree with anyone who has. If Pita Pocket were interested I would *definately* work on them with him. :)

Kylie, The Mister has said that this is obviously Pita Pocket's way of ensuring he always stays the baby. It's hard to even think about having any more when you've got one screaming and throwing himself on the floor all the livelong day. :)

He can actually open up several of our spice containers. The Mister found him happily dumping cinnamon all over the kitchen floor a few weeks ago!

You should definately keep doing what works for you! For the record, some of my reluctance to intro letters/numbers also comes (I'm thinking) from the strong Waldorf influence we've had going on around here till recently. Waldorf follows a much more delayed academics approach.
