CSS the best way to keep the content separate from the design, this is good, because this way search engines can find easier your page. For instance, if your page have all the styles within the html, it would be harder for google to read your page and not send you to higher places in the list of the results. And sometimes css can simplify your job or make it more efficient as you don't have to worry too much for the design because it can be handled by a designer, it is easier to distribute the job and you don't have to spend more hours at the computer as i explain in my blog.
