Taking this to the next level would be for game stores to loop an episode on a little screen near a game for sale. Or to loop several episodes on a large screen in their store for games they sell. Seeing people having fun playing and seeing the mechanics would have to help sell the games. I am not addressing copyright or licensing issues of course ... that stuff is for the bean counters.

Great episode Wil. This game looks interesting ... I really like the clear cards. They allow for a great mechanic of partially changing the cards below it. I just played my new copy of Tsuro last night based off of a TableTop episode. Very simple but fast and fun for a large group (we had 7 playing). It was nice to see Amber Benson again. I recently watched Buffy all the way through and I was always a fan of her character.

Your ' saying hi to Nathan Fillion by nodding and saying "Captain." ' comment made me laugh because I get that response all the time when I wear my Captain Hammer t-shirt (sadly I don't remotely look like Nathan Fillion). I wonder if more people call him that because of the Captain Reynolds role or the Captain Hammer role.

Well I do have to say that I didn't predict the can of worms I was opening here. You do realize that male geeks tend to get stereotyped as well: overweight, socially awkward, living in their mother's basement. Personally I choose to laugh it off (I haven't lived in my mother's basement for years!!).

LOL ... I was kidding (playing on the stereotype). When I was playing D&D our concerns were not about girls playing but instead about religious groups trying to get it banned.

That was well done. P.S. When did girls that cute start playing??

Celiac disease crept up on me as well in my 30's. Originally thought it was lactose intolerance (which is a symptom of CD) but eliminating dairy only helped; it did not solve everything. It is a pain to avoid wheat (especially if you are sensitive to trace amounts) but it does make you eat healthier.

It was good to see Prometheus there in the background :).

It is funny that you bring this up as I was about to start writing a 4th edition delve tonight. My friends and I no longer have the time to gather for a regular campaign (wives, kids, life in general). But, about this time last year, we had our 1st Annual Gary Gygax Memorial D&D game. I am going to DM the 2nd annual game as soon as I can get ready (4th ed. is a bit new to us).

In spite of your claim that "I have to work hard to sound this stupid." (great line btw), it was well written and universal. You covered a lot of issues. It is guaranteed to touch almost everyone.

Nice Python reference Wil ... gave me a good chuckle.

Well I came in to suggest the 'infinite art recursion project' ... but I see that has already been covered (twice). So I will just add to it by suggesting that the next medium be: Lite-Brite!!

I would definitely play poker if you started it up again. I knocked you out once but I swear I wasn't gunning for you. In fact, you caught me making a bad play and I was in trouble. I was in too deep and folding would have crippled me. I hadn't shown weakness yet (and had been playing pretty tight) so I went all-in and got lucky that you backed down. That was the hand that really hurt you; I knocked you out a few hands later. Sadly I wasn't able to play the next week when the tourney was named after me :(. Dave

Well stoolpigeon, I agree with you about how good Firefly was but here's some tidbits that may help you move on to BSG. Joss Whedon likes BSG so much he was a major part of one of the BSG specials. He clearly loves the show and says that his wife gets mad at him because he now likes to answer his phone with "Whedon Actual".

Wait a second here ... after that hand you would have been down $12,000 to $1500 and you "went on to win it"?!? Nice job!

1BigBank The comet's tail always points away from the sun as it is caused by the solar winds coming from the sun. So, if the comet is heading towards the sun, the tail is behind it ... if the comet is heading away from the sun then the tail is in front.
