Taking this to the next level would be for game stores to loop an episode on a little screen near a game for sale. Or to loop several episodes on a large screen in their store for games they sell.
Seeing people having fun playing and seeing the mechanics would have to help sell the games.
I am not addressing copyright or licensing issues of course ... that stuff is for the bean counters.

I just played my new copy of Tsuro last night based off of a TableTop episode. Very simple but fast and fun for a large group (we had 7 playing).
It was nice to see Amber Benson again. I recently watched Buffy all the way through and I was always a fan of her character.

You do realize that male geeks tend to get stereotyped as well: overweight, socially awkward, living in their mother's basement. Personally I choose to laugh it off (I haven't lived in my mother's basement for years!!).

Celiac disease crept up on me as well in my 30's. Originally thought it was lactose intolerance (which is a symptom of CD) but eliminating dairy only helped; it did not solve everything.
It is a pain to avoid wheat (especially if you are sensitive to trace amounts) but it does make you eat healthier.

My friends and I no longer have the time to gather for a regular campaign (wives, kids, life in general). But, about this time last year, we had our 1st Annual Gary Gygax Memorial D&D game.
I am going to DM the 2nd annual game as soon as I can get ready (4th ed. is a bit new to us).

I knocked you out once but I swear I wasn't gunning for you. In fact, you caught me making a bad play and I was in trouble. I was in too deep and folding would have crippled me. I hadn't shown weakness yet (and had been playing pretty tight) so I went all-in and got lucky that you backed down. That was the hand that really hurt you; I knocked you out a few hands later.
Sadly I wasn't able to play the next week when the tourney was named after me :(.

Well stoolpigeon, I agree with you about how good Firefly was but here's some tidbits that may help you move on to BSG.
Joss Whedon likes BSG so much he was a major part of one of the BSG specials. He clearly loves the show and says that his wife gets mad at him because he now likes to answer his phone with "Whedon Actual".
