So... First of all I happen to work for a unique website - a telecommuting job board for teleworkable jobs in various categories like programming, tech support, virtual assistant, etc. The jobs are aggregated from sources all over the web and hand-screened by the staff before being posted to weed out scams and biz opps. That probably sounded like a blatant plug for the site. Sorry. Just thought we might have some jobseekers on here. Anyhow I've been working from home as a researcher and content creator for about 5 years and I don't have any problems getting work done at home. What I do have a problem with is the monotony of working in a small space everyday. For me, it helps tremendously to have a large work space with high ceilings, preferably with sun streaming through the windows and a nice view to look out on. I know, that's a tall order. I live in a small apartment so it's a bit of a stretch at this point. To solve the problem I take my work to libraries and coffee shops, which are all over Santa Barbara. Never had a problem staying self motivated.
