Mr. Kumar Govindani and his wife Reshma have opened a 190 seater group dining facility just down the road from the Eastin and Ramada D'Ma Pavilion hotels at Pratunam. If you recall, this couple used to run the Rasoi restaurant at the Thai India chamber on Sathorn Soi 1 up until 8 years ago. They were then the only group dining facilty in Bangkok. Their move with this new Indian restaurant at Pratunam will bring much needed tasty Indian cuisine to the famished Indian shopper who until now had no choice but to go to the time tested but indifferent Curry Pot restaurant. Facade where Mr. Kumar plans to do BBQ and grills on the sidewalk just in front of his restaurant. On the street level, Rasoi has the a la carte section with a bar which is great for guests staying at the Bangkok Palace, Ramada D'Ma Pavillion and the Eastin Hotels. Their mutton biriyani is to die for. Also his cooking is akin to simple home cooking which is a great antidote to oil soaked curries that many Indian restaurants persist in serving in these health conscious days. Group dining facility for 190 persons on the 2nd Floor of the restaurant. Buffet arrangement for groups A small private room for Jains and other minority clients Reshma Govindani looks after the contracting and can be contacted on kgovindani@hotmail.com Her cell number is + 66 81 6222359. Next Sheela Bhatt in New Delhi The West Bengal assembly election will be historical whichever way the results come. If the ruling party, made of coalition of Left parties, loses it will be the end of longest running, uninterrupted, Left-party rule in the country. On the contrary, if they register a win again in the 294-member assembly, it will be a miracle of sorts. In their defeat, India will see the rise of an unusually strong but a grassroots woman leader Mamata Banerjee in eastern India under whom West Bengal may never be the same again. In West Bengal, the... Continue »

ers Write a Comment Next A master manipulator of power politics, Arjun Singh was a one-time Congress bigwig who was known to set his eyes on the highest political throne but saw his political fortunes dwindle in the last decade and a half. A strong votary of power politics, the veteran Thakur leader from Madhya Pradesh, has wielded power as chief minister of this central Indian state, as Governor of Punjab, as Congress Working Committee president, and as a Union minister holding portfolios like Human Resource Development and Communications. Arjun Singh, who speaks in a trademark slow-but-emphatic manner, always lived... Continue »

Next Believe it or not, but India has been ranked as one of the most hardworking nations in the world in a survey conducted by Ipsos Global and Reuters late last month. The survey, in some select nations, used a simple technique to arrive at the result it sought. The survey says that full-time workers in most countries get paid holidays, apart from Sundays and in some cases Saturdays too. However, since organisations do not force workers to avail of those holidays, many people do not use these vacation days. So the Ipsos Global and Reuters survey on 13,000 people... Continue »

this Ask Users Write a Comment Next Ireland know that they cannot bask too long in the glory of having pulled off the most successful run chase in World Cup history if they are to replicate their performance of four years ago. After posting a shock three-wicket win over England on Wednesday, Ireland have lived up to their reputation as giant-killers after having memorably beaten Pakistan in the Caribbean in 2007 to move into the second round. That dream did not last long as they won only one of the next seven matches and crashed out having entertained one and... Continue »
