Totally disagree...he is way more than an athlete...if this was about Philly putting up a Rocky statue? Yeah, I totally agree with you, guy wasn't even real. But you have to realize that other cities don't necessarily have people like Ted Williams and Russell to put statues/structures up of. Not only did Bill Russell help revolutionize basketball and American pro sports in general, but he was a figure that stood strong on the basis of his integrity during one of this nation's ugliest periods. People not knowing that is precisely why there should be vivid reminder of the man.

I don't have a problem with Kobe there...I'd be pissed too...though I wouldn't react like that...but than again I'm not one of the best players in the game. You gotta figure that it's Odom's fault for not having a pair and taking that crap from Kobe. That being said, I love it when the guys on my team are stone cold like that, that's why I'm all for KG being mentally unstable on the court. It was a god second half, though I cant stand listening to Walton...sometimes he says absurd things that are just hilarious...but when he tries to give life lesions from the booth to people like Luke while at the same time, laying into Semih, it makes me want to punch my TV. (though it was cool to hear Mike tell him to back off Semih). I honestly don't think Walton could name 3 players on the team who aren't starters. They have to give Mike someone better to work with on these road games...Walton is getting more annoying than funny.

I think in general, KG’s attitude is being blown out of proportion (but not necessarily by this site). If I threw in my own 2 cents I'd say that I like Kg's intensity and that I particularly don't agree with the Laimbeer association. But...I like this site and the work these guys put in, so I don't get all worked up about it, as if John and Chuck secretly hate KG.

Who cares...as a fan the man is one of the greatest Celtics/NBA Players ever. But he isn't a fan of the Cs, he's an Indiana guy…considering that it hasn't been his team since he left and the last thing he had in common with the franchise was probably Red, is anyone surprised about these comments? He does have more in common with Kobe than say Pierce. I like what Ainge had said a while back about Red being too sentimental in keeping the Big 3 together, it's a reality check statement to fans. These guys get paid to play; their loyalties are to themselves, their families and in some cases their egos...just be happy when we have some of those insanely good, insanely aggressive players in green. We have a championship caliber team we don't need to be living in the glory days and hanging off of what former players say. Because they gave us all they had and don't owe us loyalty now, even though it's nice when they give it.

This is the last time I will explain this...the Dodgers have never won a title while residing in LA...the Brooklyn Dodgers however have won 6. The same idea applies to the LA Lakers. I am mocking LA professional sports teams by sarcastically pointing out that the closest thing LA has to a pro football team is USC, which is now ineligible for bowl games and may even lose some of its past championships and is therefore irrelevant. That being said the Olympics and the world cup have nothing to do with the local college or professional sports teams...pointing out the Rose Bowl and UCLA basketball is irrelevant… I might as well state the obvious and say that New England has better NCCA hockey teams than California. First off they aren't conspiracy theories...they are evident truths that games throughout the playoffs were officiated in a disputable manner to increase games and thus ratings. The NBA likes Boston in the finals they just don't like them winning it. There is more money to be made nationally and internationally in Lakers merchandise. I've lived in Europe and Latin America and I can tell you that Lakers (like the Yankess) are as American as McDonalds and Coca Cola. People want to be cool and and wear apparel and root for teams from the 2 biggest cities in the US representing the 2 most interntionally loved US sports. I don't care, because I prefer it that way...less fair weather fans..and it's fun to laugh at ignorant haters who think that LA has more than 11 titles.

You guys do a great job here, much better than the typical sports media outlets that are so absurdly negative towards the home teams. (Is that just a Boston thing?) But hats off to you guys, you do a great job of being a site for real fans while never being seriously bias. If they deal Pierce or dangle him around for a possible deal I'd be upset. And I at least hope to see them try to keep Ray, even not as a starter, which I think he'd go for, what sucks is that you need a name that sells jerseys to get calls (or to not get bs calls against you) and the big three aren't as popular throughout the country and especially around the world.
