You and Anne sound like you have a great relationship. My husband and I have been together for over 25 years, and while I am the "geek" of the two, we have noticed over the years that we have taken on different aspects of each other. He still does not understand how I can watch 14 + hours of Firefly, or the entire Star Wars franchise at one sitting, but someday maybe..... And as far as the insurance company - I just got my flood insurance bill - First glance? only went up $7 woo hoo - wait NOOO - My deductible just went up $1500 -- I am right there with you. Now,I am in no way, shape or form a conservative Christian, however,I was raised on the Golden Rule -Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (Mom's version) What a kinder, more peaceful world this would be if people stopped for a second, and thought,"would I want someone to do what I am about to do, to me?" I was just up here reading some of the comments since this was first posted, and I agree with you on the civility of the posts as well. This is a hot button topic to be sure, and everyone has stated their opinions with dignity, eloquence, and not one bit of bickering. Very impressive!! Wil, Thank you for posting this - the more we start dialogues, and get the absurdities of prejudice because of race, sexual preference, and beliefs out in the open, the quicker we can break down some of these invisible barriers to enable people to have safe and happy lives as themselves. MOZ

I am in total agreement, just got home from watching the 5 and 2 year old nieces and this was such a great read to end the day. I love this blog, the link is on my homepage now so that I can catch the new posts as soon as they happen.

I have to admit that episode of Criminal Minds totally freaked me out. I had to go online and "verify" that was really you playing Floyd. It was an amazing performance, creepy, but amazing.

Little late to the party, but me too. Met the spousal unit of 25 years playing D&D, and learned a very valuable lesson about pissing off the DM!! - Picture 15th level Ranger walking around with her Ray Bans duct taped to her head because she was talking to someone while the DM was rolling and he chopped off her nose, and when she protested he rolled and took both her ears. She shut up and rolled for duct tape from her bag of holding and ran around that way for 4 more games. And they were such nice pointy elf ears too - LOL

Alas Mimi it is the little humanoid - unfortunately once they are released from the mothership they will still find ways of draining brain cells from you - so your best bet is to hide some away now, and spring them on the little alien when they least expect it. HA!! :0) Congratulations!!!

As a recent discoverer of both this blog and your podcasts, this has been a great read, and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. I am on year 25 of being married to my best friend who I actually met while playing D&D, and you are correct sir.....being married to your best friend most certainly RULES!!
