I am a firm believer at this point that pursuing what you are passionate about will make you happy. And there's also nothing wrong with going back to school-- my mother went back with my brother and I still at home & finished her BA and Masters. I just think that as long as you love it, you'll be able to find a way. :)

Thank you both! This pattern was pretty popular a few years ago-- Urban Outfitters or someone was selling a hat made with this, an at the time there was a tutorial on how to make the diamonds. Most Catherine's Wheel patterns just use large fans to form the diamonds. What I like about this one is that it uses a multi-stitch decrease, which minimizes holes in the crocheted fabric. I'm preparing a massive tutorial, it's too much fun & works up too quickly not to share.
