If you're using Benjamin Moore's new Natura line, it will come out about two shades lighter than the swatch. I learned this the hard way, so well anyway, it may not be your fault. :) Either way.. I think that color looks just right!!!
a painted hearth
Oh, for the love of this warm little corner, and that mighty woodstove. When installing our stove last year, I originally thought we'd replace the existing tile with something we like a lot more this summer. But those plans were usurped by woodsheds and gardens and babies and oh, a whole list ...

Well said, Rachel. It is difficult to avoid one extreme or the other. But hopefully as Christians we can find that middle ground.
The shape of a woman {questions on modesty and men}
He posted it to his Facebook wall for the benefit of his female friends late one night. Because they needed to hear a guy's perspective. The link was hard for me to miss. A sound clip blown up movie style with the black and white photo of a meditative man upon it. Soulful music played as a p...
Kristy, I was actually thinking about this while preparing to post. They say that men are attracted by what they see while women are attracted by what they hear. It would be interesting to hear a sermon about 'lies men speak' or, encouragement to men not to mislead or tempt women through the things they say and do.

Oh I am so jealous. lemon curd. yum!!!
137 lemons
We have a large lemon tree. It produces an insane amount of lemons. We picked a few yesterday. There are plenty more left on the tree. What would you do with all these lemons?
What an apt expression of the opportunity for love that is lost when an enemy dies. Nothing is gained. Plenty of other enemies still abound. And perhaps by showcasing our strength we have really weakened our selves.
The actions of yesterday
Last night snow fell softly upon the trees and grass, covering the fragile new plants which had sprung up under early springtime sun with downy white. We nestled up warm within the house. Children were read stories and tucked into bed. Tea was made. Covers pulled soft and cozy upon my lap. ...

Heather I hear ya! It can be difficult to figure out that perfect balance for family. We have gluten sensitivities, two vegetarians and one serious carnivore in our family. Building well-rounded meals with that mix can be tough!
Atmosphere does plays a meaningful part in how meals are enjoyed. Ambient light, gentle music and a pretty table are things that can be enjoyed by even the little youngsters.
What healthy eating means to our family [it's about more than just food]
One of the most important decisions that Chris and I have made for our family is adopting the "slow food" approach to meals. Slow food (as opposed to fast food!) is all about appreciating the process that goes into putting together good food for our bodies every day. Planning ahead on what we a...
