What do you get the fat IT guy who has everything? You get him fatter, that's what. I waddled back to my desk this afternoon to find this gift from a happy IT customer. Said customer - let's call her "Talysson," and there is no need to poke around trying to find out who it is, and it certainly isn't the woman with the shiny new 13" 2.44Ghz MacBook Pro with 4Gb of RAM. DO NOT ASK THE TALYSSON WOMAN ABOUT HER NEW MACBOOK PRO - was thrilled with the stellar service she received from the IT department. Thrilled. Stellar.... Continue »

So last night, I was on the hunt for a TV. I found one on Craig's List that looked promising and after a few emails, I told the guy I'd be on my way over to check it out. He lives in the Haight, which is a short drive over from where I live in the Mission. I don't have a car though, so I started heading over there on my scooter. Knowing that despite my incredible ability to move large objects on my scooter (I once moved everything in my apartment to a new place using only a '79... Continue »

Yesterday, I became aware of some changes that Facebook is going to be making in the next few weeks. The changes are annoying to me (and probably everyone else who develops applications on Facebook) because it means I have to go redesign and refactor some stuff to fit the changes. It got me thinking, though, about how normal Facebook users will react. I'm approaching five years of working at Six Apart**, ten years of being a social network user, and I've been a Facebook user since the early days. If there's one thing I know about this upcoming change, it's... Continue »

And oh, it gets worse because guess what was inside the Christina Aguilera lunch box? That's right: MY WISDOM TEETH. Interestingly, they were pulled out the day before The Dead played their last three shows at Shoreline in June of 1995. I insisted on going to the shows, despite the fact that I was swollen and on a lot of Vicodin and... well... let's just say mushrooms, Vicodin and hitchhiking don't mix. Also in the Christina Aguilera lunch box? My mother's high school charm bracelet. Charms include a dogwood bloom (the North Carolina state flower), a girl playing golf (with... Continue »

ThinkTank development has been going strong, but we need your help. If you're a ThinkTank tester and/or a web developer, join the mailing list, fork the code, install ThinkTank on your server, and help us build the software and documentation. If you don't know what you can do or where to start, here are the three main priorities for ThinkTank right now: 1. Facebook Integration. We've been working hard to make ThinkTank an extensible platform that any social network can plug into. We've just abstracted ThinkTank's Twitter functionality into a plug-in prototype, and it's time to try out plugging in... Continue »

Dear Tiff Chow, I think many people want to date you. I say this because on statcounter.com, I have noticed that many people find my website through google, yahoo, and bing by the following keywords: Tiff Chow Boyfriend. If you do happen to have a boyfriend (and have made it public to your fans), I would like to apologize for not doing my research before writing this post. If this is the case, then I would just like you to know that some creepers are trying to figure out who he is. Be safe. Sincerely, Other Tiff Chow Continue »

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune published a letter from Satan to evangelist Pat Robertson, responding to his comment that Haiti's persistent troubles, including the earthquake, are due to a pact the nation made with Mephistopheles. via www.npr.org God damn, I love Minnesotans. (pun intended). Follow that link to read this awesome letter. This is exactly how we should always respond to the crap Pat Robertson says. I'm gonna high-five Lily Coyle next time I go back to visit the family in Minneapolis. Continue »
