Hi Chris - There really isnt much similarity between these and fondant - except maybe the look! They arent cooked and they are made with powdered sugar, so they melt in the mouth! I make these every year for Easter - although now that I think about it I should really make them more often - like now! Happy Summer! Nan

Hi Christine! Well Im certainly not a historian by any means! And this would not be the first time Ive been wrong...this hour! I did learn in school, on one of the few days that I was paying attention that Canada did invade the US in 1814...And I read it on the Internet!!! Surely that makes it true?!? I suppose it could have been British troops, living in Canada, who invaded...but my 9th grade history teacher said it was Canadians and since thats the only thing I remember from 9th grade it must be true!😬. Happy 4th to you and yours and thanks for the comment and another chance to prove my IQ is, at best, room temperature! Nan Sent from my iPad

Marsha!!! Thanks so much for letting me know! I had butter on the brain and typed 2 tablespoons butter instead of 2 tablespoons white vinegar!!! Hope you make these - they are super sweet but they do hit the spot! Happy 4th to you! Nan

Hi Jill - Thank you for your sweet comment. You make a queen-sized quilt to donate each year?!? Thats amazing! Im sure it brings in the $$$ for the school and what a wonderful gift that is! Your grandson sounds like a wonderful little boy - isnt it great when they can email/text Grandma? Autism may be a heart-wrenching, horrible, insidious syndrome but at the same time it can also be awe-inspiring and magical and we have so much to learn from those who have it. Hope youre having a great day! xo, Nan

Hi Tammy - Making a signature quilt isnt as hard as it looks - you can do it! Our ladies church group just finished a signature quilt and we cut white and bluerectangles 2 1/2-inches by 6 1/2-inches. The blue fabric was all scrappy and the white fabric was all the same. We had people in our church sign their names on the white pieces of fabric before it was sewed together and when we assembled the quilt, we alternated the blocks in long rows and then sewed the rows together - it was super simple but made a really beautiful quilt! Go for it!! xo, Nan

Hi Donna - you said the magic word - CRAZY - because I do think one has to be a teensy bit crazy to make more than ONE of these things! So I definitely qualified and if I wasnt crazy before I am now! Happy Easter to you!! (Belated!) Nan

Hi Susan! Thanks for your comment - I dont use patterns, I just kind of make things up as I go - it just more fun that way! There are many patterns available though on line and tons of pictures on Pinterest that will surely get your creative brain fired up if you decide to make one of these books. Good luck! xo, Nan
