Thanks for your nice comment - and thanks for letting me know about VANCOUVER Island...I was tipped off by several Canadians and quickly corrected my mistake! Victoria is SO pretty that it really should have the island named after itself!! I am going to follow your lead and only make Nanaimo bars for special occasions...they are just too good and I cant leave them alone! Im still on a Canada High...loved, loved, loved our trip! xo, Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com

Definitely keep Victoria on your list - its worth it! Thanks for asking me about the graham crackers, I hopefully clarified my instructions! You can order Birds Custard from Amazon and Im pretty sure youll find it somewhere in Provo - you have everything there!! Have a great day! xo, Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com

Hi Christine! Thank you SO very much for letting me know about my mistake! I did think it was called Victoria Island! What can I say, Im an Accidental Tourist at best! We stayed at the Humboldt House BB and learned it is for sale and we spent the entire drive home talking about buying it because we loved Victoria so very much!! Alas, we decided owning a BB was not in our future, but returning to Victoria hopefully will be! Thanks again for your comment - hope youre enjoying this great weather!! xo, Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com

Hi Danna! Happy to try to help you! Send me an email at nans17@hotmail.com and Ill try to help! A queen size bed (mattress) is 60 x 80-inches, so do you want the quilt to just cover the top of the bed or do you want it to have a drop and if so, how big of a drop? Ten inches per side? Thats about normal, which would make your quilt 80 x 100-inches - pretty darn big! Think about the size of your block and how much of a drop on the side of the bed you want to have, then it will be easier to determine how much fabric to buy! Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com

Hi - Thanks for the comment - made me laugh - because if I called a cleaning crew for every time he had already cleaned something it would be cheaper to hire them as STAFF! The man has never met a mess he cant make messier! We have another sunny day in Seattle - more time in my view spot to, as you said, contemplate life and the mister!! xo, Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com

Hi Victoria! Never received an answer - and I still do internet searches for that dressing, too! It really is good...and now I only taste it from memory so when I try to duplicate it I seem to get further from the original!! Wouldnt it be nice if they would just SHARE!!! I live in Seattle, its not like I can just pop into their place on a regular basis! Sheesh! xo, Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com
Hi Mary! You are a braver soul than me! Im trying to learn the same brand machine and my old machine was only 17 years old...but things have really changed since 1976!!! I sat down to take my new machine on its maiden quilt voyage and could NOT figure out how to put it in free-motion mode...even with the book which had PICTURES in it!! Nothing makes you feel stupider than have the instructions with pictures and you still cant figure it out!!! So I took the machine back to the store to ask for help - and guess what? They gave me the WRONG instruction manual!! But even with the right manual, I still had to ask a million questions to get it to work! Ive got the quilt 1/4 of the way done - it quilts like Speedy Gonzales at the Indy 500!!! Just purrs right along!!! Now, if I dont have to change anything or push any more buttons, that I dont know what they do, I will be just fine! Good luck to you and happy quilting! xo, Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com
Hi Sharon: My friend Kareena did use a pattern, it was some flyer she got in a class she took (I think!) Maybe shell share - Ill ask! Ill let you know what I find out! I sure love my new machine - and it does free-motion quilting like nobodys biz! To: nans17@hotmail.com
A Harley for a Pfaff - seems fair to me! Im still trying to figure out what the mister is up to but in the meantime, I am lovin my new machine!!! So whatever he did, Id say it was worth it! To: nans17@hotmail.com
Hi Carol! Im almost trained with the button lift - it is very cool and I love the bobbin warning - couldnt live without it now! But...I cannot figure out how to do free arm stitching! So Ive packed up my new baby and am heading back to the shop for a little help...nothing like an instruction book WITH pictures to make one feel STUUUUUPID! Lucky you winning that machine!! xo, Nan To: nans17@hotmail.com

Hi Sharon! You can order root beer extract from Amazon! I buy Hires Extract because thats what my dad used, he used to make homemade root beer when I was a kid. Might save you a lot of driving around to order it. I bought my last bottle in Utah, you can a,ways find it there! 😃 Sent from my iPad
