People don't realize how much Ray Allen bogs down the offense. He offensive sets are super slow and clock-consuming. Also, his penetration is severely limited and he has a tendency to overdribble.
Love and respect to Ray, but the Celtics' offense puts too much stock in Ray Allen.
He has always been the most efficient Celtic, but at the age of 36, the Celtics' offense hasn't adjusted to Ray's new limitations. The offense was pretty smooth without him.
Sorry, Ray. You must be reduced to a 3-and-D guy.
Recap: C's get an easy win for once
Now doesn't that feel good? Aside from one little hiccup in the third quarter when the Celtics eased up after pushing their lead to 28 points.. the Celtics cruised through an easy win against the Nets, winning 107-94. Paul Pierce should send Gerald Green a thank you note. After looking slugg...
Avery can become one of the NBA's best back-up PGs. His defense is already there.
All he needs to do is...
1. perfect a mid-range jump shot
2. attack empty space in the defense when it's there
3. always push the ball on offense
4. learn how to use screens to make a play
He's already moving off the ball surprisingly well.
Recap: High energy Celtics bitch slap the Magic
What the hell just happened? The Celtics unleashed a defensive buzz saw tonight on the Orlando Magic. The final score: 87-56. A Celtics team missing FIVE rotation players beat down the 11-win Magic. A Celtics team on the second night of back-to-back games throttled a team that hadn't played ...
Celtics will take this one by 10 points easily. Stop the Frye and Dudley 3 point shot and you win. JO will limit Marcin Gortat. Steve Nash will have little to pass to.
Our offense will struggle but Avery and E'twaun have played good PG defense so far this season.

Rajon Rondo's "Big" commercial
The NBA's ad campaign this year is "Big"... as in "Big things are coming." Rajon Rondo is featured in the latest ad. Here it is Love it. Awesomely done.
Wilcox was great also. Deserves more than one mention. The versatility of our 5 bigs is ridiculous...I love it!
E'twaun Moore is a FIGHTER.
Preseason Game 1 recap: Bass, Daniels, Moore impress in sloppy win
Photo by Ron Turenne/NBAE via Getty Images This was the first preseason game after a rushed training camp, so it was sloppy. It was also against the Toronto Raptors, who are not very good. So there really isn't a lot of analysis that goes into this game. But here are a few points that I think...
Thanks for uploading this. Bass, Wilcox, and Marquis are gonna be huge off the bench. They look comfortable and ready to go. E'twaun has good potential for a 2nd rounder. Looks like he's not afraid to get dirty in the NBA.
Keyon, Avery, and JJJ seemed so tentative it made me cringe lol.
Videos from Celtics Open Practice Scrimmage
Last night the Celtics hosted an open practice for season ticket holders and sponsors. I was in attendance for only the first "half" but was able to snag some video of the entire portion. Check the videos below for the action. Celtics Open Practice Scrimmage Part 1 Celtics Open Practice Sc...
Magic got ripped off. Another genius move by Danny. Bass has a good future with an easy-to-fit contract in 2012.
If Baby fixed his conditioning and personality issues, he could contend for sixth-man of the year. We gave him a chance to fix those two things and he never did.
Now he's overpaid for the next four years.
JJJ and Bass are a great future at the PF position. Bradley has tons of untapped potential. Celtics have their picks still plus the Clippers pick. Add the ability to sign a max contract and more in 2012...wow...Danny has planned this perfectly.
We got Marquis and Keyon Dooling for the bench all on one-year deals to retain that cap room. Man...I know Danny gets a lot of hate but seriously...he's a genius and I love what he seems to be planning.
Bass excited to be a Celtic, Davis signs for $26 million
Tony Dutt, the agent for Brandon Bass, spoke with CSNNE's Sherrod Blakely: "He's very excited about this opportunity in Boston," his agent Tony Dutt, told CSNNE.com. "Things didn't go quite like we thought they would in Orlando, but he has no hard feelings towards them. He's looking forward to b...
Celtics can offer Delonte a maximum of 1 year at around the vet's minimum. They would be happy to resign Delonte for that immediately.
The difference is contenders would happily offer Delonte an extra year and an extra million from MLE.
That's the issue with Delonte resigning with Celtics: Boston needs to retain cap room.
I'm sure Danny wants Delonte, but he can't give him quite the cash or years other teams can.
Jeff Green can derail any trade for Chris Paul
Wouldn't that be a kick in the groin? The Celtics are finally able to negotiate a deal for Chris Paul, but Jeff Green comes along and says "Not so fast..." Berger did not issue a follow-up tweet, so I'm not exactly sure of the specifics on the leverage. Regarding Delonte West, Yahoo's Adrian W...
I posted why this is BS in another news story:
So OKC trades Green for Perk. Why would they trade him back while sidegrading or arguably downgrading at the point?
Broussard is trolling everyone.
Plus, why is he reporting this now?
Not to mention, I don't even think you can trade back for your own player within 6 months anyway. Me thinks Broussard is making something out of nothing.
Your Morning Dump... Danny offered Rondo, Green for Perk, Westbrook
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. After last season's playoffs, the Celtics offered Rajon Rondo and Green to Oklahoma City for Russell Westbrook and Perkins,...

Report: Ainge, Hornets have discussed Rondo for CP3
Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick has taken the Rajon Rondo trade rumors to the next level: Ainge, the sources say, has recently discussed trading Rondo in a deal that nets Paul, but the Hornets don't appear interested in a two-team deal in which Rondo -- who has four years worth approximately $46 ...
Why oh whyyy would the Celtics sign anybody for more than one year?
They will be the only big market team that can get Dwight and Dwight would love going to Boston.
Why throw that away?
I think DA is just guessing...
Celtics "Looking Very Hard" at Tyson Chandler?
Earlier tonight on NBATV's primetime show called "Gametime," host Matt Winer reeled off a Top 5 list of questions to NBA reporter David Aldridge. The 4th item on the list (in ascending order) asked about two free agents from the world champion Dallas Mavericks: Tyson Chandler and Caron Butler. ...
Jeff Green is a poor man's Pierce.
The difference is Pierce came into the league pretty raw in attitude and Jeff Green is humble and mature.
If Green can achieve consistency on the drive and jump shot, he could be the starting SF for a championship team in 2 years.
His defense will undoubtedly improve with time. Just look at Von Wafer who plays relatively solid defense whenever he's in there.
Your Morning Dump... More talk Troy Murphy wants to play here
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. As for the Celtics, Murphy's interest in the C's peaked following the series of trades Boston made on Thursday. Prior to tha...
Awesome post.
I always liked Semih's attitude, and Mike Gormon always defended Semih for it.
Sadly, the injuries piled up too far (thumb, shoulder, groin, and a non-disclosed fourth one).
I'd love for Semih to come back here and I'm happy to hear he feels the same way.
Semih Erden: Rocky Mountain Low
Making my way through the East Terminal at the Denver International Airport, I spotted recently traded Semih Erden sitting down, ready to order dinner. Semih may have been about to eat a steak, but he clearly wasn't ready to digest being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Cleveland Cavaliers...
Powe wouldn't be signed as big man insurance. He'd basically be a bench mascot ala Scalabrine.
After getting rid of Nate and all rookies not named Avery, the Celtics were out of mascots on the bench to cheer.
Powe is the perfect mascot cause he's a very intense player and teammate.
He's not going to play. We have PP, Green, KG, Baby, Shaq, JO, and possibly Murphy for the frontcourt.
Post for the west coast: Leon Powe a lock to return?
Twitter / Marc Stein: Fully expect Powe back in ... via kwout It's past midnight, so most of our regular readers are either asleep, or out getting hammered. But you west coasters (or international readers) are still reading... so we'll still post stuff. ESPN's Marc Stein expects Leon ...
Lol so true. It's a little emotional for the first day but it's basketball. The guy makes millions and our team got better.
Don't worry, people...
A Perk tribute, and I burst your bubble
Our boy Drucci is at it again, this time with a video tribute to Kendrick Perkins. I really don't want to dwell on the Perk trade too much because what's done is done. But I do feel like one notion needs to be cleared up now before it goes any further. Kendrick Perkins is not coming back t...
