This is my matching girls in one of my absolute favorite matching outfits they have ever owned. This was the second matching outfit set I ever bought them during a Gymboree campaign, and it's admittedly getting a little small for both, but we love it so much that we just can't retire it yet. I just want it to last throughout the summer. For now, I will enjoy remembering almost two years of matching girls in these adorable dresses. And, now for a belated happy birthday to this sweet girl. Nine years ago you arrived over three weeks early and changed my life forever. Sometimes it feels like yesterday and some days it feels like I have known you forever.... Continue reading

Until last month, I thought I had a picky eater. I have always been so proud of the fact that my girls are adventurous eaters and don't ever require kid's menus. They prefer vegetables, don't have a problem with spicy foods, and both have very healthy diets that nutritionists would be thrilled with. My son, on the other hand, is incredibly picky. He doesn't even like foods that kids are supposed to prefer, like cakes, candy, and sugary drinks. In fact, this picture above was staged because he flat-out refused to try a s'more when we were camping and instead ate way too many graham crackers. He just likes bland food, and that drives me crazy. I refuse to make... Continue reading

My little matching girls wear these cute little dresses from Hanna Andersson at least a few times a month. So much so that they are one of the very few items that both girls have taken turns staining. I could freak out and start some serious stain removal, but honestly, it will probably get stained as soon as I get out the old marks. They paired the dresses with white leggings and jean jackets throughout fall, parts of winter, and into spring, but we're finally getting to where they can start wearing them without pants and coats. Since they are long sleeved, they won't be able to wear them during the hottest part of the summer, so I love that... Continue reading

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #UltimatePitStop #CollectiveBias Around here it's been a mini construction zone for days. The kiddos have been busy repurposing toys, household items, and art supplies to create a little world for them to play in. This may look like any old kids' project, but for them, and for our family, this isn't just child's play or a random assortment of things - this is how the siblings bond using Disney•Pixar's Cars 3. Interested in finding out what their newest Disney•Pixar's Cars 3 love is? Hover over the photo to click through to Amazon.com to buy! If you know my older kids, you know they... Continue reading

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PrepFreeProtein #CollectiveBias One thing we are adamant about with our kids is that they grow up in an active family. With so many beautiful places to visit right near us, we make it a point to go biking, hiking, and exploring whenever possible. Our kiddos are well-traveled little adventurers at this point, and after the long winter we had, we're all excited to get out and play. With summer weather slowly arriving in the Pacific Northwest, we’ve been taking every opportunity to get outside and enjoy every last minute of the sunshine. I love being out in nature and being active as a... Continue reading

It's hard to see in pictures, but my little one has the most beautiful strawberry blonde hair. My oldest and I would love to be redheads {sadly, my red isn't au natural... I only have reddish tones in my hair}, so this spring we decided to dye our hair together. This has been a dream of my oldest for years now but I was initially worried because I'd never dyed her hair before. But, I figure it's just hair... and besides, red fades so quickly that it's almost non-permanent anyway. This girl is so incredibly excited to have matching hair with me. And, she is really popular with her group of friends so everyone wants to fawn all over her... Continue reading

I think everyone can remember when they first laughed, cried, and sung along with Disney's classic tale, Bambi. Whether that was 75 years ago when it was first released or it was on Disney Movies Anywhere just this past week, Bambi is one of those movies that touches your heart and stays with you forever. Bambi was released in 1942 during World War II and took over five years to make due to its exquisite hand-drawn artwork and attention to detail. The timeless tale features an adorable young deer named Bambi who explores the wonders and challenges of the woods with his playful pal Thumper, the lovable skunk Flower, and wise Friend Owl – and ultimately fulfills his destiny as... By now, you know how much we adore the Britax B-Ready stroller. But, maybe you have a question about the older B-Ready as compared to the new 2017 B-Ready we shared last month? If so, this post is for you. As B-Ready owners for nearly 7 years, I can't even tell you how many people I have spoken with about the stroller and our immense love for it, but it is definitely in the hundreds. I can also tell you that I have been personally responsible for dozens of people buying their own B-Ready throughout the years. You just can't beat all the different configurations or the fact that it grows with your family. Start with the infant car seat{s}... Continue reading

Fremont is one of my favorite places on earth, and it was so great too get back there now that spring has officially sprung. We love walking along the Burke-Gilman trail and watching the boats go by, seeing the draw bridge go up and down, and picking wildflowers to add to any bouquets we buy at the market. This little one has been to Fremont numerous times, but this was her first time exploring like a big kid. She loved it. This girl loves nature, so she would be perfectly happy exploring the waterfront all day long. And this boy? He adores the boats, the buildings, and the water. If you've never been to the area, you will definitely want... Continue reading

Sisters are special to me. As someone with 3 sisters of my own that I've always been close with, I always wanted girls of my own one day. So, these two? They are a dream come true. The love these two share is immeasurable, and I love watching them explore and play together everywhere we go. My oldest loves being able to teach her sister all about the world around her, and my youngest adores everything about her sister. These two are already such great friends. Be still, my heart. I'm so grateful to be their mama, and I cannot believe that my 9th Mamaversary is fast approaching. That's right, my girl is going to be 9... NINE! I refuse... Continue reading

Every year our school has a school auction and each grade is responsible for creating a class project to be auctioned off during the live portion of the event. This year, I was in charge of our third grade class auction project. I honestly had no idea what I was agreeing to when I volunteered, but I ended up having a lot of fun researching, planning, and then executing our class project with the help of the students. Since photography is my thing, I was looking for a photo project I could do, and someone suggested we try an aerial shot where the kids hands and arms make the larger design. The most popular shapes are circles, hearts, squares, and... Continue reading

In honor of Mother's Day this week, the girls and I were rocking the matching Mommy-and-Me plaid. I had been stashing these shirts away waiting for a day to surprise my girls, and Mother's Day seemed like as good of day as any. You should have heard the squealing that ensued when I brought them out of my closet and presented them to my daughters. And, of course, I needed a picture with all of my kiddos, even if we're all not matching. Oh, how I love these sweet babies of mine! They have my whole heart and always will. Not only was our first time of matching girls mama and daughter super exciting for the girls, it was also... Continue reading
