Please donate new or gently used books to the Hannon Library this week! From now until Friday, November 20th we are collecting new or gently used books for children ages 0-7 years old. They will be donated to Children’s Institute, Inc. You can read more about them here. Every year Children’s Institute gives a holiday party for families with young children who are living in South Los Angeles in poverty. Mattel donates toys, but the children receive no books! According to Reading Is Fundamental, 60% of kindergarteners in low-income families do not have a single age-appropriate book in their home.... Continue reading
