I was reading an article the other day about programming in C and one of the main subjects in the article was the preservation of memory in keeping your code running nice and fast, but that wasn't the only reason for preserving memory. The article also pointed out that by having more RAM we are consuming more power and therefore more of the Earth's dwindling resources. Surely this is a good enough reason NOT to get more RAM, just for the sake of it? I understand this might not be related to the original issue in this blog post but I believe (IMHO) that it supersedes it.
