In Christ's Love
I once was lost, but now am found! 2 Corinthians 5:17
Interests: I have been married for 17 years to Ken, a wonderful husband and father who loves God, and loves me unconditionally. We have 3 beautiful daughters, ages 13, 9, and 7.
I have spent most of my life chasing the wrong things and feeling empty, instead of looking to Christ for my self-worth and value. Raised in a dysfunctional home with an alcoholic father, I spent many years wandering aimlessly trying to find my purpose in life. I accepted Jesus as my Savior at the age of 21, but sadly did not start living for Him until recently because I struggled with feeling unworthy & guilt ridden for past mistakes. I am passionate about encouraging others to be set free from blinding lies that prevent them from living the life God desires them to live. It wasn't until I stopped pretending to be perfect and started being "real" with others that I experienced growth....in my marriage, my friendships, and my relationship with God. My hope is that in learning to be "real" we will begin to break down the barriers that distance us, and replace them with the perfect hope that Christ offers.
This forum will allow me to share my faith via blogging, book and bible studies.

"God's Story, Your Story" - Chapter 3 Homework
The author challenges us in Chapter 3 to: Make a list of things that worried you one year ago. Note how the "plan came together" with God's guidance. If you are still struggling, write a prayer of appeal specifically addressing the worrisome matter. Pray it daily. Write about how God... Continue reading

"God's Story, Your Story--Chapter Three: You Find Your True Home"
"God...has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT) I will be the first to admit that last week I was a MESS. It seems that I had allowed this world to catch up with me, and in the process I lost focus of the "reason behind the season"... Continue reading

Satan, Stress, & Slowing Down
Last time we talked about the reality of Satan in God's Story and how that affects your story. Study question number 1 asked us to share the distractions that you seem to encounter the most---distractions that keep you from engaging the story of God in Scripture. I'm sitting here with... The Holiest Night...The Incarnation
Our last question from "God's Story, Your Story" asked: In what ways do you need God to ’dwell’ with you this week? (See John 1:14) In order to answer this question, I think it's important that we understand the meaning of John 1:14. The timing is great because this relates... Continue reading

Amazing Grace Indeed!
Max Lucado challenges us to think about an "ordinary" person we know who has been a giver of extraordinary grace. What motivated that person and what were the results? Before I go any farther, I felt it best to give the meaning of the word "grace" as defined by Merriam-Webster:... Continue reading

"God's Story, Your Story--Chapter One: Ordinary Matters"
Max Lucado begins our study by showing us just how "normal" Jesus was. Normal, just like you & I in many ways, however the author also shows that through Jesus' perfection He is totally unlike us. In yesterday's post, I asked the discussion question about how these two concepts might... Continue reading

Pre-Book Study Thoughts
This was a whirlwind weekend that included a purse party, all-day church food drive, wedding, and small group Thanksgiving luncheon. Needless to say I was STRESSED, and feeling overwhelmed. My Love/Hate Relationship With Facebook...A Christian Perspective
It's so hard to believe that it's been almost 3 years since I opened my Facebook account, and even more difficult to believe that I had to be persuaded to do so. I was very apprehensive about the idea at first, but in January 2009 my husband convinced me that... Continue reading
