Hi Tim I am situated in Switzerland. And I would already be pretty happy, when I could finally have access to the paid apps App Catalog!!! As a loyal Palm user since the early Palm III and ever since, it is pretty frustrating not having access to some desperately needed apps. :( I have been in contact with several developers. However: Having an app in the official App Catalog, according to the terms the developers are NOT ALLOWED to sell it otherwise to customers. Also not to people, who have NO ACCESS to the App Catalog. Such a thing is really frustrating a big part of a loyal user group. There should be no harm in opening the App Catalog to the whole world. Please get this nightmare for many people fixed A.S.A.P. Thanks in advance, Rolf from Switzerland
Hey HP/Palm! This video ad is just awesome. You should really hire them or at least take them under contract as freelancer. Seriously! Greetings from Switzerland, Rolf
Congratulation for the merger and all the best for a very successful future. Especially after seeing the video where HP CTO Phil McKinney sits down with Ben Galbraith and Dion Almaer, all remaining concerns where gone. This merger now looks even better than I could dare to dream. Jon, you mentioned that life moves fast, and we really, really don’t want to miss a thing: That is right. However, presently I am MISSING ACCESS to the paid Apps Catalog (since I am not in an official palm pre country). I have used Palm devices as my primary PIM device since early Palm III times (around 1998). Now, I could finally get hands on a Palm Pre Plus (through a distributor here in Switzerland). In general, I am very happy with the device. However, there are some very important apps that I am missing (eg Password Wallet app with desktop companion) and which are only available through the official App Catalog. PALM please open up the App Catalog for the whole world. To me it does not make any sense to block certain regions at all. Accept that your great devices are spreading further than you as Palm are organizing it yourself. While with PalmOS, that was no problem. But now with webOS, you are controlling the official App Catalog. That power also brings along responsability. Also for customer outside your official markets. Why would you now block certain customers of your products from being happy. This is very poor marketing. Please treat ALL your customers and loyal enthusiast around the globe equally. OPEN UP THE APP CATALOG. NO WALLS! Thanks in advance. Greetings from sunny Switzerland

Jon Regarding opening of paid App Catalog for Switzerland: Just release it for ALL available apps and let us pay in US$. With 4 official national languages, surrounded by EU countries, it is in general NO PROBLEM for us, to deal with some other languages or some other currencies. ;-) So just free up the (paid) App Catalog for us. Thanks in advance. Rolf
Hi Jon While this sounds great for all US folks, there is a much more important issue regarding the App Catalog: I finally got my Palm Pre Plus here in Switzerland. In general, it works fine. One BIG issue: I have only very limited access to the App Catalog. I desperately need some of the paid apps. There is however no chance to get them. (I have webOS QuickInstall on the desktop and Preware on the Pre. No chance. I do see some of the paid apps with Preware, but when trying to install, it a) either says: This app is not available in your country or b) divert to the official Palm apps download page where you can only select phone numbers from the "official" countries. (So can't enter my Swiss phone number.) I purchased the Palm Pre Plus (through a wholesale company probably importing it from Germany), paid full and also like to support Palm and webOS developers. I am sure, many Palm enthusiasts all around world (outside the official Palm Pre markets) have the same issue. Please open up the App Catalog to ALL countries and also allow ALL languages in all countries. So if a German app is not available and it is OK with an English version, one could choose so. Thanks in advance. A very longtime, loyal customer (continuously using Palm devices ever since the Palm III). Rolf from Switzerland
I just got my Palm Pre Plus (here in Switzerland). Unfortunately, most apps in the app catalog are NOT available. Using the direct link on the web doesn't help, since it does not accept phone numbers for Switzerland (+41). Any advice. Thanks in advance.
Yes! Why no people outside the USA. Or outside the regular markets? Why not ALL people on the globe? PS: And please start selling the webOS devices like Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus in other countries as well. Like Switzerland. :-)
