Here is my problem with the "may", "might" translation: Am teaching 1 Peter 3:1 to teens. Where ἵνα is a problem. Where women "may" save their husbands by their respectful conduct. NET says "will" save their husbands. Now, some of these teens may be thinking, 'what a marvelous evangelistic tool'! Yet, I think Peter is saying nothing more than "might" here. And likely something less than "might"... considering how hard it is (even these Christian women needed to be told) to be "respectful". It may be better to treat this subjunctive as Constantine would treat Verbal Aspect. Indeed, to translate ἵνα with even far greater latitude!
